Classification: Query
I have just started loking into my Boyack ancestry, but seem to have a different branch from the lines which are already well researched.

I have a Mary Boyack who married James Mudie in Dundee in 1754.

The parish birth register lists the following data:
Mary Mudie
born 2 October 1757
bap 6 October 1757
Parents James Mudie, Mariner
Mary Boyack
named after Mary Boyack,
spouse to Mr John Martin,
schoolmaster in Easter
Anstruther,
Aunt

The John Martin is a well known portrait painter and this links to Mary's mother's aunt as Mary Boyack, so I know that the previous generation are all OK.

But, I still can't link in Mary Boyack (b abt 1733 and married to James Mudie) to her parents.

It has to be to the male Boyack line and this leaves the possibilities as
John Boyack (b 6/6/1692)
James Boyack (b 18/4/1694)
Thomas Boyack (b 4/2/1700)
Samuel Boyack (8/9/1706)
William Boyack (b 14/11/1708)
Robert Boyack (b 24/9/1719)

Mary Boyack's (married Mudie) children are called :
Agnes
Mary
Jean
James
William
Elisabeth

None of these link in with James's parents names to keep names in the family, so I am working on the names being from the Boyack line.

This means the favourites might be John or James as the first child's names.

Is anyone researching this branch of the Boyack clan or anyone with any suggestions. This line stayed in the Dundee area and did not leave Scotland if this info helps.
Thanks
John
