Recent DNA testing has connected a line that started out as Boyatt, then Boyd to the Boyt-Boyett Surname Project. Testing has also connected these lines to families in the UK who migrated to Sussex from France. The majority of the Boyett Project Members tested as Haplogroup G2 and have a 91% prediction of having a common ancester back 600 years. The G2 Haplogroup has been traced back 30,000 years.
