My grandfather WIlliam Boyd was born in South Port Queensland Australia 1883 his wife's name was Catherine Foley they had a son William (Bill) born in Goondiwindi Australia 13 July 1913 (my father) my grandfather died in Goondiwindi 7 Feb 1944 aged 61 years, my grandmother died in Brisbane 1953 or 1954 my father died in Goondiwindi 1983 I have a older brother and sister William (Bill) and June. I think my grandfather had a brother Robert (wife Helen) sister's Ailser (Mrs Bob Scott) Brisbane Australia and Mary (Mrs R Hampson) Sydney Australia. I would love to hear from his relatives.

My Father, Orlan Tester from Ky, who's Mother was Henrietta Howell, who's Mother was Nancy Boyd. Nancy was born 12-16-1862 in Ky. She was the daughter of James Madison Boyd and Sarah "Sally" Hall b: 1835 in Va. James was the son of Zachariah Boyd, b:1790? in Beaufort North Carolina. I was told Zach married a PHEBE? Does anyone have anything on James Madison and/or Zach? I'm wondering where this group of Boyds came from to North Carolina>Va>Ky.? Ring a bell for nyone else?

Boyd of Newtownhamilton, Tullyvallen, Co Armagh

I'm researching the Boyd family in the townland of Tullyvallen. I've got back as far as Mark Boyd who was born towards the end of the 18th century (no exact date yet).

He was married to Mary Scott and they had the following children: Mary (my 2xgreat grandmother who married William Ardis), Susan (m. Thomas Stewart), Robert, Margaret, Maria (m. James Johnstone), Samuel (m. Hannah Scott), William (m. Hess Strain), Sophia (m. James Martin) and George (m. Annie Gray).

It's possible that some of the children emigrated to the US, although Mary, certainly, and possibly Sophia and George stayed in Tullyvallen. I have limited info on all the children, other than Mary so if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

As regards Mark, I have no idea who his parents were or when the family arrived in Tullyvallen.

I am looking for more information of this family. William R. Boyd b; 1858, Indiana married ??? who was born in Illinois. They had two children that I know of - Emery Boyd b; June 7, 1877 or 1878 in Illinois and Thomas Boyd b; Feb 1881, Illinois.

Emery Boyd was married twice, the first being Effie ??? b; June 1878, Missouri and d; Bet. 1901 & 1906. They had these children - Charles b; Dec 1898, Missouri and Isabell b; 1901, Missouri.
His second wife was Margaret May ?? b; Jan 25, 1885, Missouri and d; Dec 7, 1965, Calif. I have two children listed so far - Dudley b; 1908, Missouri and Robert Daniel b; May 30, 1912, Missouri.

Looking for Missouri Boyd Connections

Hi, I am looking for information on Levi Jordan (Jordan Levi) Boyd who was born in May 1830 in Tennesse and died in Dade County, Missouri on December 1, 1919. His children included Francis Marion, Magdalena (died of Typhoid fever, age 18), Martha Jane, Thomas Levi, Nancy Angeline, Melvina Savater, John Edward, Lena Idela, Corrie/Cora/Carrie Malise/Maize (some confusion on this one), Laura Bell/Laura Rilla (Laura Rilla is confirmed, looking for Laura Bell), Mattie Alice, Verne, James Henry. He was married to Dialtha Morrow. Levi's daughter Martha Jane, married her first cousin Robert Franklin Berry (their mothers were sisters).

This Boyd family seems illusive. I have several Boyds who migrated to Dade County Missouri and who are around the same age. I cannot connected them for sure but am trying to. If you think you might have a connection I will provided you with the names of those people as well.

I am looking for the parents of Wm. Andrew Bennett. He was born 1 Dec 1904 in Illinois and d. 9 Oct 1991 in Banning, Riverside Co., California. On the California death index it stated that his mother's maiden name was Boyd. She married an unknown Bennett sometime before 1904 possibly in Illinois or Indiana. Her date of birth could be around 1879 possibly in Indiana.

She married Samuel James Rudolph in 1851 in the Parish of St George and St Patrick. I am trying to find her parents and/or siblings as well as her in-laws! Looking for descendants of William. Married Louisa (Lucy) Burgess born around 1843. William and Louisa had one child, William C Boyd born around 1871 but in census of 1900 shows him as an only child, but shows no living children. I have not followed up on this child to see if he may have lived to marriageable age and then died!! In this 1900 census he would have been 29 or so.

Isabella M Boyd mother (children by 1st husband are Dabbs)
Elizabeth Boyd TN @ 1841 but probably died before 1855
John M Boyd TN @ 1843
William C Boyd TN @ 1844
Lock B Boyd TN @ 1846

William's mother died and he had half sibling by his father's second marriage:
Biddle B Boyd. I have found a BB Boyd in a Confederate Unit in TN.

William's mother Isabella had been married before to a Thomas C Dabbs and had two children by him before she married William's father, Milton. So William had half siblings with both the Dabbs and Boyd surnames.

Louisa's family (below) I have speculated from census records: (Keep in mind, may or may not be right)

Elizabeth Terry born around 1787 in Va

Rachel Terry Burgess may have had siblings named:
Granville Terry @1821 wife Emily born @1825
Elizabeth R Terry @ 1830

The reasoning of posting the names of Louisa Burgess Boyd's family names is the hope that some Boyds out there may have some of these names listed in their genealogy charts. William and Louisa did not have a living child that could have carried on the Boyd lineage that I am aware of. If any of these names seem familiar to you, I would appreciate you checking out your charts for in-laws with these surnames.

So far, I believe he is buried in a cemetary in Mangum, Oklahoma, and that his birth year is 1894 and death year is 1939. He was married to Margaret Shields, but I do not have a marriage date. His father was George Washington Boyd (b: 12 Sep 1859 in Coryell County, TX; d: 25 Aug 1937) and mother was Margaret Isler (b: 25 Dec 1873 in Mississippi; d: 3 Mar 1966).

John McGladdery was born in Ballycor in 1823, his father was called John I have no information on his mother though a John McGladdery was married to a Jennet about 1775 in Ballycor and they had a son called John in 1786 in Ballycor. I was wondering if this was the grandparent of John Strange (born 1823) in Ballycor.

John (1823) married Ellen Strange (born 1827 Ballycor) in 1848 in Ballyeaston, Antrim.

They had six children that I am aware of all christened in Ballyeaston.

Jane Hay Mcgladdery married James Boyd on 04.11.1870 at Ballynure Presbyterian Church. James was a labourer from Ballygallagh, Antrim.

They had three children that I am aware of all born in Ballyclare.

William John - 12.06.1872 (my grandfather)
Sarah - 06.05.1875

William John Boyd married Elizabeth Kate Sealy on 03.12.1903 at Albertbridge Congregational Church, Knockbreda, Belfast. They had a son (my father) William George Boyd on 25.01.1909.

I know that William and Elizabeth were tailors and lived in Portallo Street. William John died in 1917 and Elizabeth Kate in the 1941 Belfast Blitz.

I have no information on where Elizabeth came from, on her wedding certificate her father is stated as John dec'd. it does not give her age. James is down as a mechanic.

When William George came to England he went to Bristol to relatives, so Elizabeth may have come from Bristol.

William John's sister Ellen married Samuel Stafford Woods in Ballynure Church of Ireland 15.08.1889.

Any information would really be appreciated.

Boyd's of Wheatland, Wyoming

I was wondering if anyone can help me with the Boyd's living in Wheatland, Wyoming. There was Adam Boyd his wife Margaret. Children William I Boyd, Francis J Boyd and Nora E Boyd. They had a family ranch. William died in 2002, Adam in 1973 and Margaret in 1974.

William has a daughter called Virginia Anderson living in Wheatland and a son Kenneth Boyd living in Marengo, Ill.

I see in Wheatland there is an Adam Boyd Ranch and William Boyd ranch. Are these likely to be named after these poeple - or does anyone know where I can find the history of such ranches.

Any help could would be gratefully received.

Nancy Ellen Boyd from Flat River, MO - 1926 to 1941????

Trying to find a missing part of my own family (ZAHRNDT).
My GGGF immigrated to the US in 1882, his oldest son was Ernest ZAHRNDT. He's a missing link in my research - but I found a marriage record for him to Nancy Ellen Boyd - with the marriage taking place in Flat River, MO in Aug 1926. He later passed away June 1, 1941 in St. Louis. The death certificate lists his spouse as "Nellie Zahrndt" and address of 3855 Delmar, St. Louis, MO.

After this I can't find any other references to her. I'm wondering if they had children and the usual genealogy questions. My GGGF passed away in 1928 in Graniteville, and Ernest is listed as the "informant" on that. So I'm trying to piece as much as possible together, and would appreciate any/all information available.

Sarah Boyd, Washington Co, PA between 1800-1840

Has anyone ever heard of a Sarah Boyd from Washington Co, PA who quite possibly married a John Ralston in around or about 1838-1839? She would have been probably from Hopewell Township and had been born about 1817 or somewhere around that time.
