I do not think so- as she was living with her sister, Mary Ann Bodyston Butler, in the 1860 Warren Co. ILL. census and she was 50 yrs.....so I'd say the answer would be none.
Now, there is a "Said Boydstun" [24yrs] in 1870 living with Mary Ann, but no Sarah living there in 1870. Who might "Said Boydston be?"

Born in ILL abt 1846. Said was listed in the 1870 Warren Co. Ill. census living with Mary Ann Boydstun[on] Butler. Who is Said? Who are her parents? at 30yrs she was unmarried. She made hats. Could her given name be Sally or Sarah? There was a maiden older sister of Mary Ann living with the Butler family in 1860 in Greenbush, Warren Co. ILL.who also was named Sarah Boydstun[on].
Can't find what happened to her either. When she died? buried? Mary Ann went to Rockwall, TX. abt 1874 [her bro. Benjamin F. lived there already] with her son, James B. T. Butler. I do not know if other family members also traveled with them. Any one know???????

I have some information that James Boydston(father), James, Jr. (son) and John Pruitt were sworn in to Capt. Joseph Cloyd's Company in Montgomery County, Virginia. James Jr. has not been entered into the DAR as a soldier. I would like to be able to that. My line goes through William's sister, Rhoda, who married John William Gage.

Thanks for any information you have

Primary sources for James Boydstun (b.1738) ?

I have filled the family tree with all of the family-lore (assumed) links, but am now attempting to document and confirm each connection with as many primary sources as possible. I am having trouble finding anything for James Boydstun (b. 1738, either PA or MD m. 1) Mary Pruitt/Prewitt m. 2) Tabitha Smith, d. 1814 KY), and specifically anything solid that ties the Boydstu/on families to the Boylston families. These could well be variations on the same name, but back in Scotland there are both "Boyd" and "Boyle" clans/surnames Boyd being natively Scottish while Boyle being Norman. They did share a region (in Ayr) and may very well have intermarried, but are from two different linages. Obviously this could make a decided difference as to where our/my current decendants stem from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
-Ryan.

Linda, I'm so happy to finally find another link to Bartlett Boydstun! I was given a photo of him somewhere in my connections with family members, it has the name of Joe McCormick as a member of the Tucker family written below Bartlett's picture. It also says that 'Joe' has the original photo of Bartlett, and I would love to get in touch to try to get an email copy that would be printable. This one is done possibly on a printer versus a scanner, so my copy that was given is very poor, with indefinate lines around his head and face. If you know who has the original, we can trade, as it happens, I have the original portrait of Howell T. done in charcoal. I'm running on, contact me through my email; Jule_456@msn.com Thanks! Jule
