there is a Joseph born in my family born in Pn 1821 :
Joseph Boyer, a prominent citizen of Cass township, was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, in 1821. He is the son of David and Barbara (Smith) Boyer, with whom he moved to Richland county, Ohio, when he was about three years of age. In 1842 he moved to Elkart county, Indiana, where he remained until 1853, when he came to Warren county, Iowa, where he lived on a farm some twelve years. He came to Guthrie county in 1882. He was married in Indiana, in 1846, to Miss Susannah Whetstone, a native of Pennsylvania. They have six children living: David, Elizabeth, Rachel, Simon, Amanda and Rebecca. They have two dead--Joseph and Lewis, both of whom died aged three years. Mr. Boyer owns three hundred and twenty acres of good land, nineteen acres of which are timbered lands. He has a fine house and large willow trees on his premises. This gentleman is also a member of the Gernam Baptist church.
David boyer father was john henry Boyer
Daniel I believe may be part of this family
I have Joseph's photo if anyone wants it and his kids also.

Hans Info is here I have more also http://pages.prodigy.net/maryneff/Baur.htm
I have information going back even further if you want it also menonite history books have some info on this Boyer line and notes that they were nobles. (note in the money tranfer that this would be over 5 million in todays money. Each son recieved this amount from what I make of it.)

Parents of Alpha Boyer

I'm seeking information about the parents of my great-grandmother Alpha Boyer-Miller(b.1884). I know that her father's name was W. A. Boyer and he was born in Illinois. I know that he lived in Emporia, Kansas in 1918. I don't know anything about her mother. Alpha had 2 sisters, Stella and Florance. She had one brother Milton Boyer who fought in the Spanish American War. Alpha lived with her Uncle and Aunt, Samuel S. and Anna Moore in Kansas. Samuel Moore was blind and owned a broom factory, which my great-grandfather, Clarence Miller ran after he married Alpha.
My grandmother, thinks that Alpha was related to Anna Moore some how. But she doesn't remember much about her mother-in-law.
I've run into a roadblock so any help would be appreciated.

BOYER FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AND IN KENTUCKY

My family may have worked for the Boyer Familes, the Ferguson Families, the Waggoner familes, and/or the Mills families, in their early days of living in Kentucky. I am African-American who's ancestors, eventually settled in Logan county, Kentucky and later in the Pennsyvania area.
I would like to met the descendants of Caroline Boyer born about 1845 in Kentucky and her descendent children Will, Henry, and Clay Boyer. All born between 1860 to 1870 in Kentucky.

I am also interested in the estate records to discover what part of Africa my family descends from.

I am also interested in the DNA project for the African-American Boyer lineage.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, Do you know where in Ohio that this Joseph was born? I have a Joseph Kerr Boyer born in Lancaster PA that moved to Coshocton County Ohio and then moved to Brown County In. and then to Effingham County Il. My Joseph Kerr Boyer was born in 1799. He had a brother that lived in Ohio. I have seen this Joseph that you are looking for in Bartholomew County IN census and wondered if this was my Joseph's nephew. I will see what I can find. If you are interested in working on this family and comparing notes let me know.

i don't know if this is the same person or not but my great great grandmother's brother had a Photography Studio in Effington County Il. His name may have been George Boyer and the year would be around 1880 to 1920. I would have to do some searching in my records to be positive of this. Maybe there is something about this in a city directory for this time period. Carol

Come and join our Boyer DNA Test Group and see if you can find a match with someone who has traced their Boyer line back further than you have. We have 46 Boyer/Bowyer men who have now tested and we have had some great results. See our webpage at:

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Boyer/

We trace the direct male lines on the "Results" page and then show which lines are a match. Hope to hear from you.

Gwen Boyer Bjorkman
gwenbj@seanet.com

My Boyer lineage starts (for the most part) in England. I was wondering if you had my g-g-ggrandfather in your line? He was born in England around 1809 (I think). His name is William Boyer. He married Mary Ann O'Neal around 1837 (either in the states or England). The people i do have in my line from him are validated. I don't have any information regarding your William Boyer but if you have mine in your family line, I might be able to add to it.
Thanks

Ira Luke ALLEN's age WAS NOT a typo. He was 71 years, 10 months at death. On 23 Dec. 1854.

Katherine HUNTSINGER was born 21 Apr. 1791 in NY to John George HUNTSINGER and Anna (Mary) DIEHART according to several sources at ancestry.com.

In Petition for Appointment of Administrator for William ALLEN's will, filed at Cass Co., MI in 1854, she is named Katherine.

When my parents visited William and Katherine's graves in 1999, the cemetery was still known locally as Four Corners Cemetery.

Do you have a source for William's birthplace in NY? All I have currently is NY, although other siblings of William were born near Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY; Cayuga, NY; Chautauqua Co., NY; and Ellery Twnshp, Chautauqua Co., NY.
Thank-you for writing back. Both Joseph and his son Charles served with Iowa regiments during the Civil War.
I have found some information on the Boyer side that I could use some help with. Stan, my husband, did the DNA test. He is a very close match with the Boyer line Johannes "Hans" Boyer who was born 1734 in New York. I can not get my family to match up with Johannes history. Joseph stated in 2 census report that his father was born in PA but 1 report his mother was born in IL and the other TN. The history on line for Johannes dose not have any one in those to states. so I guess I keep looking.
If you know of a line to tie this two together. I could use some help.
Thank-you
Roz Boyer

Unfortunately, I don't know any more about Eveline Boyer Politte. I found her death certificate in the Missouri online death certificates. I do see a possible Louis Boyer, wife named Mary, whose daughter of an appropriate age was shown as Emiline in the 1850 census in Union Twp, Washington County, MO. Not sure that is the family, but it might be another name to look for.

Have you tried asking on the various Missouri Genforum and Rootsweb lists? I was looking for my daughter-in-law's Boyer ancestors and found very helpful people on those lists.

I did learn that Portell was originally Portais, and I found a possible marriage in 1822 in Old Mines of Louis Boyer (born 1790, son of Joseph Boyer and Marie Robinet) to Mary Portais (daughter of Jean Baptiste Portais and Marguerite Chabot, born 1807.) The ages agree with the couple I found in 1850 and 1860 census records. I found an online family tree that claims they had a daughter, Julie Malvolene, on Feb. 1, 1836 at Old Mines. Could be that is Eveline/Emeline.

Feel free to contact me at: the name shown above@yahoo.com

I am looking for connections or information (parents' names, in particular) to MARY BOYER (or possibly BOYERSCHMITT or BOYERSMITH). She was born in Germany c 1846 and moved to Baltimore, Maryland as a child with her parents. Both parents died during an epidemic and she was apprenticed to a seamstress. She was later employed by a Baltimore parish where she made and took care of the altar linens and the vestments. There she met and married the parish handyman Wilhelm Schmitt. Within four years, they moved to Petosky, Michigan. Family tradition has it that her Grandfather Boyer was a Napoleonic officer who was stranded in Germany on the way home from Russia.

Two J.C.s and 9 Joseph Boyers are in the Civil War records of Missouri, if that's where your Joseph served. If he fought for the CSA Army he probably served out of state since Missouri was "occupied" Union territory. You can see the records here: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/soldiers/results.asp?txtName=...

Missouri's digital records are among the best and most useful anywhere. Especially death records. If any of his descendants died in MO after 1910 the death certs may contain surprising detail for you.
Good luck
H Boyer
