When I got out of the Army in 1970 I lived with my parents for about 6 mos. The people that lived next door were Jan& Dave I used to talk to Jan and she said her father was Pappy Boyington. They were living there until around 1972 or so. That is in Concord Ca. I belive she had 3 kids but not sure.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying re: the Edouarde line.
I posted this on another board but am unsure if you have seen it or not.
This is some of my info:
Sarah Ann May Edouarde was my paternal grandmother, bn 19-07-1900 and died 31-01-1962.
She had five sisters, Annie, Louis, Rose, Blanche and Edna.
They had one brother, Leslie.
Their parents were Henri Eugene bn 19-09-1868 died 10-05-1940, and Sarah Ann Edwards,(always known as Ada)birthdate unknown, died in 1964.
These families lived in very close proximity to each other in back-to-back terrace houses and my parents visited often,I remember the visits as noisy and lovable gatherings!
The info I have on my gggparents are that Louis Edouin, an artist, came from France. He married Ada Sarah Edwards, an opera singer, in London in 1867.
I hope this is of some help to you,
kind regards
Jean

Thank you for getting in touch, Sheri.
John and Elizabeth are heads of a branch that I have flags against in our tree - flags because I am seeking documented evidence.
I can certainly trace John back 3 more generations and you are welcome to the results of my research. As you may have seen posted, virtually all Nottingham Boyingtons spring from one main line.
Elizabeth is an enigma to me. I am trying to find documentation to link her with the Brewin family (a 2nd marriage?). I have Florrie Edith as daughter of Eliza Brewin based on census documents. As you indicate this Florrie married Herbert Newcombe. Also, Eliza appears to have at least one sister.
My research shows John married to Elizabeth Stenson (without documented proof) and having one son John Frederick, married to Lily Swinscoe who in turn produced 6 children.
Feel free to question me further on this board, Sheri. By doing so it may bring other Boyingtons out of the woodwork!
George Tuck, Toronto, Canada, ex Beeston, Nottingham
I'm not sure if your William Thomas Boyington is related to William and Elizabeth Boyington. They had 11 children from 1851 to 1873. They had a William A. Boyington born in 1869. Your William Thomas Boyington might be a nephew to William and Elizabeth. I haven't found any siblings for William as of yet. Sorry that I can't be of more help.

The Brennans are on my wife's side of the family, from Co. Laois, Ireland.
Absolutely zero Brennans on the Boyington side (my mother's side) and most probably no Irish genes there at all. None on my father's side (Tucks of Norfolk) either.
My wife was added to spice up the gene pool!
I look forward to more on the Warwickshire clan.
If you have any info on the Edouarde line I would be happy to hear more.
I took a look at the Gencircles and recognised another name we have in common... Brennan.
I remember this name from my childhood when we would visit dad's relatives- his parents and grandparents and associated aunts, uncles and cousins who all lived in a close area to each other. This was in Birmingham, UK. I think there may have been a daughter called Brenda. Not too sure, I will have to think more about it and see if I can find my files. Having recently moved house, things are difficult to find at the moment!!

First, let me express envy towards your camping - a pursuit I love. I hope to be in South Island next year for the World Cup - NZ will be a first time experience. I have friends in Christchurch and, apparently, other Boyington kin (Noreen Luff) descended directly from the Yorkshire roots.
I am working on a full edit of the skeleton tree I posted on gencircles last year.
http://www.gencircles.com/users/gtuck/1
It shows we share ggg grandfather Richard Boyington x Ann Sills - Richard being the first generation of Nottingham Boyingtons out of Yorkshire. All current and past Nottingham Boyingtons, including your Warwickshire/Leicester branch are descended from Richard.
Feel free to contact me further. I would love to hear how the Warwickshire branch dispersed./g

Hi George
Edwin was my father's brother. He died in approx. 1970 in Birmingham, Uk. My dad, Joseph Henri, died in 2005, in New Zealand where we now live. How are you and your mom related to me? I am Joseph's daughter. Sorry for the delay in replying, I have been away camping... no internet access :(

I have Susannah Permelia Fisette born in Nauticoke Ontario per her death certificate. The 1851, 1891 and 1901 also list her as being born in Ontario. Her father, Thomas was born in Quebec per various birth and census records.
John was born in 1847 per the 1881 census and his grave stone.
I'm sure we are talking about the same family. Where did you find the information that he was from Nottingham? Where did you get the 1843 date?
Do you have a subscription to ancestry? Do you the copies of the census records, birth and death certificates? Thanks

I would be interested in your sources, Amanda.
According to my records, there have only been 4 John Boyingtons born in Notts in the 19th Century, none in the 1840s.
My records can account for 95%+ of all Nottingham Boyingtons during the 19th C. All these folk were descended from Richard B who came down from Yorkshire, married Ann Sills 1809, and produced every "son of a B" who is currently in the Notts phone listings! I would be happy to share what I have and would love to know about other escapees to Canada and beyond.
George Tuck, Toronto, ON

I am excited about your posting, Danny.
My wife and I have just got back from Cobourg, ON after visiting Annie Tuck, nee Boyington, alias my mum!
John and I share the same common ancestor Marmaduke Boyington, ex North Riding Yorkshire. Duke's son, Richard, came to Nottingham ca1809, married Ann Sills and produced the entire current Nottingham Boyington clan. John's father, George Bointon, was Richard's oldest child. John was born 1833 and christened at Nottm St Nicholas. John married Susannah Hill in 5 Oct 1857, produced 8 children. I have no record of emigration. John appears in UK censusses 1841, 1861,1871, 1881 and 1901 at least and died in Nottingham in 1921. Do we have the same man? I will be happy to share more./George Tuck, Toronto
