WELL MY LAST NAME IS BOZIER THE ONLY TWIST TO IT IS MY GRANDFATHER COULD BEARLY READ OR SPELL, SO WHEN HE WAS ASK TO SPELL HIS NAME HE WOULD SPELL IT AS "BOLGER INSTEAD OF BOZIER". i am getting alot of other responses from other Boziers who names are spelled as Bosier,Bolger,Bozier this goes on but we all think that it the same last name but just spelled different ways. many of these other Bozier's family roots are from S.C where my grandfather roots are from. MY FAMILY IS ORIGINALLY FROM S.C PLACES SUCH AS PINEWOOD,CLERDON COUNTY,SUMPTER,FLORENCE, I'M UP HER LOOKING FOR ANY ONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP ME OUT WITH ANYTHING, I MEAN ME AS BEING A BLACK WOMEN WITH A LAST NAME AS BOZIER, MY FAMILY CAN BEARLY FIND ANY OTHER BOZIER OUT THERE. MY GRANDFATHER NAME IS LESLIE BOZIER WHICH HE HAS a lot OF NICK NAMES I BELIEVE HIS FATHER NAME WAS WILLIE or Thomas BUT PEOPLE CALLED HIM WASH BOZIER (DON'T LAUGH) ;) MY GRANDMOTHER NAME WAS ELLA EDNA MARIE SMITH WHICH SHE MARRIED MY GRANDDAD SO HER LAST NAME WAS TURN TO BOZIER. 2> Jesse Bowman Smith (1877-?) & Elizabeth "Bessie" Warner (1882-1961)
3> Eugene Norman Fay (1904-2008) & Virginia Louise Smith (1904-1936)
4> Donald Earl Hunt (1926-1969) & Bonnie Jeanne Fay my wife's paternal grandparents)

Hello again - Here's another piece of info:
JAMES L. HOSLER, grandson of Henry Hosler and son of Moses F. and Amanda (Lynch) Hosler, was born in Liberty Township October 10, 1857: educated in the schools of the district and at Heidelberg College, he taught school for two terms (1875-76); was appointed agent of the Lake Erie & Western and Northwestern Ohio at Burgoon. Ohio; which position he held about five years, when he was transferred to the Bettsville office, where he was employed until July, 1883, when he with others, mentioned at page 327, purchased the office of the Optic and founded the, Enterprise. Mr. Hosler was married December 24, 1878, to Miss Emma C., daughter of Solomon Warner, of Sandusky County. Our subject was elected village clerk in April, 1883, and re-elected in April. 1885. Was also elected a justice of the peace in April, 1885, for Liberty Township.

Emma Warner was my grandmother and I found her and her parents in various census reports on Ancestry. Look at the 1870 census for Jackson, Sandusky Cty, Ohio,

Emma and my grandfather were married in 1878, so her name disappears as such.
and you will see "Soliman" (Solomon) Warner & Family.
How do you relate to this family?

Hello, I believe we have a match! My gggrandfather was Jacob Warner, b. 1809, married to Hannah, b. abt 1805. Their first son, Solomon, was my ggrandfather, B. 1832, married to Mary E. Doll. Their daughter, my grandmother, Emma Warner, b. 1861, married James L. Hosler.

Sorry I only have information on the British BOZIERs and BOSIERs descended from groups in Berkshire and Hertfordshire. Maybe someone else on the list can help you?

I am trying to find my family. they are the Bosier's. My grandfather was Calvin Bosier, his wife was Margaret Bosier maiden name was Postell. I have seem to trace them back to either Sumter or Clarendon SC. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. The death of my grandfather was the year of 1933 and my grandmother's was 1971. Thank You

I think if you post a little more information regarding your grandfather Calvin BOSIER other may be able to help. It is the basic W-questions; where, when etc.

All of the information I have is on the UK BOZIER/BOSIER families and virtually none on the USA branches.

Thanks for the message, I'll look out some details and send them to you direct as GED files and PDF. I've been researching the BOZIERs in the Greenwich area and have information on James and John BOZIER and their 16 children (combined).

I've also collated some other information, such as GRO data which I can send if you want.

I too would be interested in the origins of the BOZIER name. However I do have a lot of research material on the BOZIERs in the UK and I may be able to fill in the gaps.

My great grandmother was Mae Bell Bosier born in Pinewood, SC. Her mother's name was Malvenia Johnson Bosier who married Lenval Bosier. Mae Bell married Robert Postell in 1927 at Friendship AME. If any of this sounds familiar email me- ampith@hotmail.com

Wow! I can't believe I just saw the name Prince Bosier. My great-grandmother, Mae Bell Bosier Postell, has a grandfather named Prince Bosier from the Pinewood area. My family has a picture of him with writing that says he was a full blooded west indian from british columbia. He was brought to this area and sold for $1.00

my grandfathers name was william (bill) bosier. he married viola green . they lived in charleston sc which is where my mother was born (beulah) they later moved to philadelphia. they had two other daughters which name was floretta and catherine.if any of these names ring a bell write back to me.

Hi Regina,

I believe your aunt Geraldine may be related to my late father Bernard Bogier he died in 1986. Most of my relatives reside in Baltimore, Maryland and the last name "Bogier" is not very common there must be a connection.

I can send you what I know...my father's siblings names and other info...

Note: My father and his siblings (orphaned) were all adopted by the Sheppard Family but they all kept their last name Bogier(my grand parents were killed in an automobile accident).
