I know this is an old post but... My Opoo (Om) was Grietje Braam , She was born in Odoorn, Drenthe (1898) and died in Winterswijk, Gelderland (1984). All of my Braam ancesters were bakers.

Finally it is good to hear from someone, my wife Ruth and I live in Hervey Bay which is in Queensland 3 hours drive north of Brisbane. We only have the youngest two living at home, Sarah-Rose who turns 15 next week and Sean who is 18. The other boys all live with their partners - Aaron is 25, Brendan is 23, and Travis is 20. Hi Tony, I hope you still check this message board.

My dad (your dad's youngest brother Berend) just called me, all exited, that he found your message. He did not quite know how to post a reply so I do the honours for him....

We have been scouring the internet for you and your brother too, but never really found anything until today. We are really glad to hear from you. Cannot just jet get my head around the fact that the boy I met so many years ago, now has 5 childer, maybe more in the meantime. We hope you are all doing well, and that we can exchange adressess etc. soon.

Back here in Holland my part of the family is doing great. My mom and dad are in good health. My older sister Claudia is married and has a son (who turned 16 on januari 7th this year). I am married but no kiddies.

I think I could write a whole book full of all kinds of family stuff, but I think my dad would love to talk to you too. So I'll end my reply here, and I really really hope you get this message.

They and several family members left Rilland for USA in 1866. Don't know if they were born in Rilland. Thanks

Joppa Kort, 21 years old, born on 14-1-1799 in Nieuwerkerk.

Father bridegroom: Mattheus Braam
Mother bridegroom: Maatje Lemson.

Father Bride: Joost Kort
Mother Bride: Tona van Westenbrugge.
