Hi Jenny,
I too have been looking for Brabazons from Belfast. My great great grandfather was a sea captain who lived in Donaghadee Ireland. His name was Laurence Brabazon. He is buried in Belfast Cemetery and I have the number of the grave. I have been trying to get in touch with them to get more info....also was hoping to travel from Canada there to look up info.
I think he had brothers named Hugh and Thomas. He was born in 1846 and died in 1927. He had one daughter Isabel . His wife's name was Emma Thornton.
I have traced the Belfast Brabazons back to John and Grace Brabazon from Midleton Cork in the 1700's. The had quite a few children along with one named Laurence...who had a son Laurence from Youghal who was a sea captain. He had sons Hugh and Thomas who I think lived in Belfast. I did find Hugh Glynn in the 1901 census. The address was Abercorn Quay Belfast. I cannot confirm these people are related to my Laurence Brabazon yet, but think it is highly likely. I have more info regarding the children of John and Grace Brabazon if you would like to know I will look it up for you. There is a Brabazon cousin ...Kevin Brabazon who from Australia who gave me quite a bit of info regarding them. Would you please let me know if you have any more info regarding the Belfast Brabazons...regards, Nancy
