Hi Tracy,
My grandfather's name was Ingebrigt but he went by Bert. Otto Brack was the only other "St. Paul" Brack of the family. My great-grandfather and Otto settled in St. Paul soon after coming to the US. They bought property in South St. Paul on Stevens St. and George St., and that's where my mother, Marjorie May Brack, grew up. My grandfather Lonnie and his dad and brothers built several houses, which are still occupied but not by Bracks. However, I remember them well, because the families lived in the houses when I was a young girl. We lived in St. Paul until I was 8. My mother died of acute leukemia when I was 6. My father remarried and we moved to California. However, we stayed in close touch with the Bracks and spent many summers at the cottage they owned on Stuart Lake near Vining, MN. I have two brothers, John and Bill, and a sister, Nancy. My Dad is still alive and well and prone to talking more about his early life, so that's been great and has helped me as I continue this research.
I haven't seen the Digital Archive site from Norway. I am fairly new to the on-line geneology so if you could direct me to it, I would appreciate it.
I would love to tell you more about the family and would like to hear about your family, too. Also, the photos and letter would be wonderful to see. I have a letter written by great-great grandmother Anne Oldsdatter Brack that is quite interesting. I would be happy to send that to you.
I also have some photos that you may not have. I do have the one of the brothers and two sisters with Iver Sr. taken in 1918.
I am off to a meeting now ( I am at work) so hope to hear more from you soon.
Mary Beth
