Have been doing some research on Bracknell's in South Carolina and Alabama. John J. Bracknell's will was probated in Abbeville County. He was born 6 Mar 1841, son of John Bracknell and Elizabeth Martin Bracknell of Edgefield. He is named in will of John Bracknell in 1848. Evidently, he named his first child Frances Elizabeth Bracknell after his mother and sister Frances who had died a short time before this child was born. John J. Bracknell's grandfather was also John Bracknell (married to Sally or Sarah). He died about 1820-1 and his will is probated in Edgefield County also. The earliest record I have found of the Bracknell name is in Craven County, North Carolina in 1756. Will be glad to share any information I have. I have names of John J.
