george livingston/e/leviston (the spelling varies) and sally/sarah lockington had 5 sons George Thomas John Francis +one other and a daughter Jane. All the Livingstone (modern spelling!) of Drung are descended from one individual (a cobbler) according to what has been passed down in our family. If this is the same John and it seems most likely our family history has it that he died young. George+ unnamed brother went to Canada(Barrie Ontario) john and jane never married they are in irish census of 1901 and 1911 I think the surname is spelled Levingston(their mother Sarah is there in 1901) my GG grandfather was Francis.

is Burleen Bradburn...daughter of Burl Bradburn, your grandmothers brother. I have just recently started checking ancestry...I am also at a deadlock in regards to father of Minnie, Burl, & Stella..Have you been able to confirm this.. My search has lead me to father of Sarah Bradburn, mother of Minnie & siblings to be James Bradburn & Susan Everett..There are a lot of James Bradburns & not too sure if this is the correct James Bradburn. Can you confirm if this is correct? Hope you don't mind this information but I recall hearing at an early age that Minnie & Burl's father was a man named Burl Hatcher. Don't know if this is true but in my search I did see where their was the name Hatcher mentioned that was connected as an inlaw to one of Sarah's siblings: Hope this will be useful. Would appreciate if you would keep me informed with your findings. Thanks, goodtimers@comcast.net

1910 Colorado Springs Ward 2, El Paso County, Colorado, pages 6a & b relects the following family: Bradburn, Frank (46), Clara (37), Anson - son (16), Fay - daughter (10), Fern - daughter (8), Flora - daughter (5), and Frank - son (3). Believe this is the family you are searching for. I research anything dealing with the Bradburn family, but in particular Joseph B. Bradburn who married Nancy C. Loudermilk. If I run across any other additional information will forward to you. Would be happy to email census if you reply with email address. Best wishes in your research. Terry L.

I have a Frank Bradburn in my family tree. In 1880 Census he was listed as 5 yo, making his birth year as 1875, born Indiana. In 1900 Census he is listed a being born March 1865, however there is an interesting fact that may support that he was not present in the household of his parents and they may have listed him anyway. It is reported that he was married for 2 years (1898), yet no wife is in the household. My theory is that his parents listed him even though he was not living with them and either they or the enumerator made an error in the birth year, therefore his actual DOB may have been, March 1875. If this helps, contact me at Bruce_Clan@yahooo.com. Frank Bradburn is my 1st Cousin, thrice removed.

Fran,
I am also researching the Bradburns. We have Sarah Jane Grow (maybe Groo) married to Thomas Bradburn. She was born abt. 1830 in Ohio ( one reference states Penn.) She had children, Eva Ella, William Frank, and Thomas. She is buried in Morgan County, Indiana in the Liberty Church Cementary, near Martinsville, Indiana on State Rd. 67. We also found that she had a son, Henry Grow and his children (or their children) are living in Martinsville. Our linage: Sarah Bradburn, Eva Ellen Bradburn (marr. Ira Barger), Allen Barger, my husband. Do you have any information going back to her parents?
Bradburn, Sarah Elizabeth - Sarah Elizabeth Bradburn, 86, of Newark, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Sarah was born the daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Rizzo) Hill on October 13th, 1922 in Buffalo, New York.
Re: Bradburns in Cherrokee, N.C.

I am a descendant of John B. Bradburn & just happened to read your post.
From another branch of my family I have close relatives that are Qualla Boundary (Eastern Cherokee Reservation) residents. I find it curious that they are buried so close to the reservation with no Native American ties, although it is possible. There were more than a few non natives who were seeking land there at that time.
There was a time when claiming your Native heritage was a fate worse than death. Many of our ancestors thought it best to hide their heritage. A good many things get lost through the years. Generally speaking Native American Oral tradition is more accurate than written history.
I have also heard that the Bradburn family has Native blood somewhere. There are many branches to our family though, so who's to tell where it may be.
I proudly claim my Native American heritage & am active in our local Native Community. I am also descended from the Bradburn family but that isn't the line of which I claim my Native American heritage from. So, possibly 200 years from now my own descendants may be saying " I always heard that my GGG Grandma's family was Native American, wasn't she from the Bradburn family".
Just food for thought.
You might look for your family surnames on the Cherokee roles or other tribal roles from the area of your family. Many tribes were mixed in together during removal times. The National Archives web site is a great place to look for roles.

Re: BRADBURN FAMILY

This John Bradburn was born about 1740 in Orange County, Virginia, and ended up in North Carolina. He is one of the most interesting children of Isaac Bradburn and Mary Hunter. I am not sure if his mother was Mary Hunter or if she was actually his step-mother. John is older than his other siblings.

John had siblings: Elizabeth, William Chandler, Butler and Thomas. John was the first to move from Virginia to North Carolina, followed by his father Isaac and brother Thomas. John owned a tavern in NC called the Hickery Tavern from which it is said that the town of Hickery got it's name. John was a large land owner in the Burk County area of NC.

If you will provide me with your e-mail address I will provide you with my Family Group Sheet I have on John Bradburn which you may find interesting. It will give you some insight as to why Thomas Payne may have disliked John Bradburn. You can e-mail me at mobradburn@comcast.net.

William C. had at least one child, William P.; Sarah had at least nine children; and John Davis had one son Andres Maria Agustin Juan Manuel C.
Hi I am researching Edward Bradburn who married Elizabeth Hunter and had at least two children: Ann who married William Cartwright in 1832 in Cavan County Cavan Ireland and Elizabeth who also married a William Cartwright (cousins?) in 1833 in Druin/Drung County Cavan Ireland. Elizabeth and Williams daughter married (1) Thomas Livingstone (son of George & Sarah who went to NY USA and (2) John Boothman in 1863 in Goulburn Australia. Thomas Livingstone had an uncle Henry already in the colony when they arrived as assisted immigrants in 1858. Anything sound familiar??

Elizabeth Davis's daughter was Mary Johnson, born about 1762, she married William Chandler Bradburn (bond) 7 January 1782. John Bradley, 2nd husband of Elizabeth Davis-Johnson, left a will 1811-1816 in Christian County, KY. Here's where I begin wondering, JOHNSON BRADBURN who was married to Cassandria Orr, and was mentioned in History of Union County (page 698) listed Johnson's Father and Mother as William Bradburn & Mary Bradley. Could Johnson Bradburn possibly be a child of William Bradburn & Mary Johnson Bradley? Could there have been a error made when they mentioned Mary Bradley ??? I would appreciate any thoughts on this.

**Rulon, if your out there, please contact me.
