There is some information in the book South of the Mouth of Sandy by Chris Evans it tells of the Crawford Family's journey to Tennessee from North Carolina in 1803. It also tells of a Bradford's death in the efforts to abolish bootlegging in Big Sandy TN and an area around the Big Sandy River known as the old 23rd District. The first part of the book is about this family. Hope you find the read interesting I did.

Hey I've been doing a little of research. David Bradford only had 5 children With Elizabeth Porter. Not sure what all of their names where because I'm still researching that, but one of them was Sarah Mathilda Bradford who was married to Clark Woodroff in 1817. Hope that helps.

I am a descendant of Lorenzo Dow Rush and Frances Irene Harwood through their son Milam Lafayette Rush. Frances Irene Harwood was Lorenzo's first wife and she died in the 1860s. My Great Grandmother, Martha Draden Rush(daughter of Milam Rush)was raised in the home of Lorenzo and Frances Rush following the death of her Father, Milam, in the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre. Martha and her brother, Alfred, are listed in the household of Lorenzo Rush in the 1870 Boone Co., Arkansas census along with the Bradford and Jay children. I have written documentation by my Great Grandmother that Lorenzo was twice married after the death of his first wife Frances. This means that he may have married 2nd the widow of William Bradford and 3rd to Minerva Jay, widow of John Jay.

Nancy,
This line is believed to connect to Richard Bradford of Charles City County Virginia which is my line also.

This can be confirmed thru YDNA testing. So far we don't have any descendants of Hugh Bradford participating.

Hugh could also be the father of Davis and Wiley Bradford who were also in the counties you mentioned.

I will check my files and see if I have anything additional on Hugh Bradford

Gary
http://bradfordancestors.com

Hi, I was just wondering if you have anything new on Thomas, David and John Bradford. I think that I may have a connection to a Mary Ann Bradford who married a Russell in Grainger County Tenn. and came to Franklin County IN. I am pretty sure that David Bradford who was in Franklin County IN in 1811 is connected to my John Bradford also but have not found out how. Have you anything new on David Bradford who you think is a brother to your Thomas?
It has been some time since I contacted any of you on this thread but would like to be updated if you have anything new to share. Thanks. Carol

Hi everyone, I was just in Franklin County Indiana and I looked at the cemetery records. Mary Ann Bradford Russell Gant is NOT the Mary Gant buried in the Quick cemetery. The Mary Gant buried there was born Sept 25th 1825 and died Jan 20th 1858 and is the wife of William Gant. Mary Ann Bradford Russell Gant died in 1839 according to probate records. I found her son David Russell and his wife buried in the James Cemetery along with a Robert Bradford and wife Joanna Freeman Bradford. I did not find a stone for Mary Ann Bradford Russell Gant. I actually went to the James Cemetery to look for Mary Ann Gant.

Bradford in Middlesex, England, Pennsylvania and Delaware

I am researching the Bradford family that lived in the Middlesex, England area. The first ancestor that I have is James Bradford who was born about 1788. He appears to have married Sarah Harvey in Stepney during 1812. I believe James died in Hackney during 1838 and Sarah died some time after 1871. The children of James and Sarah all seem to be born in Bethnal Green. They are James born in 1812, William born in 1815, Thomas born about 1823, Richard born in 1824, Samuel born about 1826, Sarah Ann born in 1831, Eliza born in 1833 and Louisa born in 1838. The son James seems to have married Sarah Read in Shoreditch during 1835. The son Thomas seems to have married or began living with Caroline Bremont about 1848. The daughter Eliza married John Pullum in Bethnal Green during 1858.

I descend through James and Sarah’s son, Thomas Bradford. Thomas was born about 1823, took up living with Caroline Bremont about 1848 and appears to have died in the Bethnal Green Workhouse during 1871. Thomas and Caroline had seven children that I know about. The son Thomas Samuel Bradford was born in Bethnal Green during 1849, married Mary Ann George in Bethnal Green during 1871 and died in St. George in the East during 1891. There is a daughter born in Bethnal Green just before the 1851 census who is listed as simply Female Bradford. The daughter Caroline was born in Bethnal Green during 1851. The son John William Bradford was born in Whitechapel about 1860, married Alice Frances Berry in Bethnal Green during 1878 and died at the Union Infirmary at Laytonstone during 1920. The son James was born in Whitechapel about 1864 and died in East Ham during 1828. The son William was born in Mile End Old Town during 1866. The daughter Jessie was born about 1870. According to the 1881 census, Caroline had two children after Thomas’ death to which she gave the surname Bradford: Alfred born during 1873 and Emma born during 1875.

I descend through Thomas and Caroline’s son, John William Bradford who married Alice Frances Berry. John and Alice had the following children: John born in 1879, Emily born in 1881, Thomas born in 1881, William born in 1884, Alice born in 1887, Henry born and died in 1891, Nellie born in 1892 and Albert born in 1894. They move from St George in the East about 1900 and moved to Essex County. John and Alice reside there until their deaths.

John and Alice’s son Albert is my grandfather. He married Rose Hannah Kelley in 1920. They lived in Barking, Essex until 1922 when they relocated to the Pittsburgh, PA area. In 1940 they moved to Newark, Delaware.

I’m looking for any addition information on this family.

My G Grandmother is Laura Alice Bradford Majors. Her daughter-in-law (my grandmother) told me what she knew of Laura's family. She gave me a list of Laura's siblings and their spouses and their children's names, if she knew them. All the research I have done has agreed with what she told me.

Specifically she told me that Laura's sister Mattie had married a Fred Williams and that they had 8 children. There is a Marriage Record for M F Bradford to F H Williams on 30 Nov 1879 in Van Zandt County, Texas which is where my Bradfords resided in 1880.

The oldest son of J F Bradford and Frances Phillips was Joseph Bradford. On the 1860 Census of Henderson County, TN Joseph Bradford was 1/12 years old. In the 1880 census of Van Zandt County, Texas F H Williams is listed with his wife, M F, and his brother-in-law Joseph Bradford, who is 19 years old.

J F Bradford and Frances are burried in Edom Cemetery, as are at least three of their children.

Amazing! Absolutely AMAZING! Frederick Hooker Williams and Martha Frank Bradford are buried in the Edom Cemetery and we live about a mile from the cemetery! Martha Bradford is the lady that spawned my wife's interest in her family history. My wife acquired a photo of Martha about two months ago, and we have been researching since then. We have since found that the parents of Frederick Hooker Williams are also buried in Edom. Now you are telling me that Martha's parents are also buried in the same cemetery. We just moved to Edom a few years ago. Now it seems my wife was moving home.

Thank you so much for the information! Do you have any photos of the Bradfords?

Hello: I am Harriette Louise Bradford Young. Descended from Anna Roles and Richard Bradford of England and Charles City Co, Va. I have found their marriage license in England, but as far as we know the John Parish who stood up for this was not her father. Do you have any of this proof?
Was she married before? Also one of her last name spellings was Rawles. We are not kin to the Bradford of Mayflower fame, but possible one of his uncles. Our line went from Virginia, to NC, to SC, to Texas and from there all over the place. Please EM me at hhillard@aol.com. Any information would be appreciated. Harriette
