Max Brainerd of Libertyville (IL) A gathering for Max Brainerd, 69, will take place Thursday, Oct. 9, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at The Chapel, 1200 American Way, Libertyville. A memorial service will follow the gathering at 4 p.m. at The Chapel, with Pastor Fred von Kamecke officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Born Feb. 8, 1939, in Bruce Wis., he passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Centegra Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. Max loved hunting and fishing and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He is survived by his loving children, Michael E. Brainerd, Scott G. (Jeanine) Brainerd, Jeffrey K. (Mindy) Brainerd and Richard D. (Julie) Brainerd; loving mother of his four children, Jean L. Brainerd; brothers, Harold (Elva Mary) Brainerd and Adron (Mary Ann) Brainerd; sisters, Rosella (Jesse) Wilder and Lavon Wilder; and grandchildren, Gavin Lee and Jaxon Brainerd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene L. and Hazel (nee Starr) Brainerd; brothers, Frank and Roy Brainerd; and sisters, Dorothy Newman, Irene Whitson and Maxine Lang. Arrangements were entrusted to Warren Funeral Home, Gurnee, 847-855-2760.
