Married into the Bramer family 1962 (Howard Bramer) but my point is they're from Illinois - may be the branch you're seeking. Been researching my own father and not into this Bramer side yet... the father (Howard Albert Bramer) married an Eleanor Disney - they may share your grandparents as brothers or sisters. Just go with family connections on ancestory and you'll fill in more than you want to know.

Your name caught my eye. My husband's name was Gary Bramer and I have a son named Gary Allen Bramer. Our Bramer ancestors came from Germany, most of our local relatives are from West Virginia and some migrated to Ohio. I'm sure that somewhere along the line, we have relatives in common. I don't recognize any names immediately, but have quite alot of ancestor information. I live in Colorado. If interested, you can email me at cbramer3@comcast.net.

Hi - My son-in=law is the great-grandson of a Josephine Bramer but I have been unable to find anything on this woman. She doesn't come up in the censuses or any other records I have tried. She married a Linter Carlson and named their son Linter Bramer Carlson. Both Josephine and Linter are of Swedish descent. Do they sound familiar to you?

Looking for any family members out there....

Hi my name is Gary Bramer i am looking for any relatives out there that may be related to me. I have a long story but i will try to make it short.... My mom was not a nice person but nevertheless she made it a point when i was growing up not to have any contact with any family members due to her own mental and selfish ways. I have alot of unanwsered questions as an adult... It is really sad I dont have any family that even remembers me or knows i exist. I am married now with three children but would like to somehow know my own side of the family. I will start by as little information as i know my grandma's name was Dorothy Bramer she died in 1979 when i was 8. My grandpa was Harry Bramer i think they had 5 or 6 kids together one of them being my "mom" (Susan Bramer) they lived in Glasford, Illinois growing up on a farm. I think some of their kids names were Donald Bramer??? Margie Bramer??? Joann Bramer Clarke??? Louise Bramer?? all originated from the Illinois Area..... If anyone has any information to help me that would be great... My "mom" was very mental and controlling and as a adult i dont know why she behaved the way she did... But, i dont have a single photo from any of my childhood and not much memory since i was so young.... Thanks for any help or information..... You can also text or call me at (309)267-5351 Sincerly, Gary Allan Bramer

I'm looking for information on my great-grandmother her parents were John and Rachel both from Germany. Lived in Amsterdam. I believe John was her brother. Every census I find changes her name...Elvira, Alvina, Lavina so I'm really not sure which is correct. She married David Filkins also of Amsterdam had three children Harry, Clarence, and Wallace.

I came across this post while doing a school project about the origin of my last name.

I am glad I came across this, because a few months ago I had a customer with the last name Bramer. When I asked where her husband's side of the family was, they replied from Michigan, so I'm very curious about any other kin I might have floating out there.

I have been recently working on my husband's Bramer ancestors. His great-grandmother was Jennie Bramer, who was the daughter of Henry J. Bramer. Henry J. had a son Henry John, born in Michigan in 1887, who moved to California. I show Henry John Bramer had a son Henry Lewis Bramer, born March 8, 1926 in California. I belive this is your grandfather. If what I found is correct he passed away Sept. 10, 2004. I have a lot of information on the Bramers. Contact me if you are interested. I would love to get more information about your grandfather's family!

Hans - I just received much information about my Beuker and Vos relatives in Veldhausen. There are several Bramers in this family in the 1700s in Veldhausen, this was researched by Theodor Davina for me. Do you want me to send this to you? I also had many other relatives in Michigan, not Bramers though. Peter van Tuinen, Wisconsin, USA
