I have found no link between your Araminta Brammer and John Brammer and Sarah Lee... As you mentioned the dates do not fit. I also have no connection to Lilly within my own Brammer family tree.
As to a connect with Edmund Edward Brammer, I don't have any information for you. The dates could be possible,Edmund would have been about 40 years old at Araminta's birth. But I have yet to find any records for Edmund Brammer, as I have only been working on this particuliar Brammer line for a few months.

If I find anything in the future, I will let you know. But at this time I would have to say there is little possibility of a connection between Araminta Brammer m. to Turnner Lilly and John Brammer m. Sarah Lee

Request for info on Araminta Brammer

Do you think that there is any chance that Araminta Brammer Lilly born about 1812 based on census information, the wife of Turner Lilly could be the daughter of John W. Brammer and Sarah Lee? Turner and Araminta have a son named John W.(Lilly), possibly named after her father.
All of John W. Brammer's children appear to be too young to have fathered her and all of his brothers were born earlier than he was, so they were possibly too old. I thought perhaps that you might know of a will or other information. I have looked for a parent for her for some time, but have yet to nail anything down tightly.
The other possibility is that she is the daughter of Edmund, but the dates are a little off and his daughter with a similar name appears to have another husband. Thanks, Glenn

My grandfather's sister, Alma Adessa CAREY, married Edward BRAMMER in Muncie Indiana in 1899.

I am trying to find who the parents of Mary E. Brammer are. She married Elliott Neal who died in 1892. Both are buried at Getaway, OH in the churchyard. Elliott's obit. says he is buried at Unionville in the UB Cemetery. I have been there. Mary died after Elliott because he mentions her in his will. The stone is worn and I can't make out her date. Their children were Thomas, Marion, Bertha, John, and Mary in the 1870 Lawrence, OH census.

Dear Charles,
Since this posting is an older one, I will be brief just in case you are no longer working on this line. I have a good deal of information about Mary Jane Brammer who married James Kingen. Also, Rosety Caroline Brammer's first husband, Robert R. Todd, died either in the Civil War or shortly thereafter. They had a daughter named Lucinda. Caroline then married Alvin R. Kingen, nephew of the James Kingen who married Mary Jane Brammer. They all ended up in the Pacific Northwest. I will be happy to share what I have if you are still interest in this data.

I believe you and my first husband are cousins. His great grandparents were William J. Brammer married to Virginia G Hoylman, grandparents Harry Dow Brammer/Mary McComas, father Harry T. Brammer/Mary Belle Holstein. His name was James T.Brammer, a West Virginia State Trooper killed in 1989. If you still need this information, please contact me. If you have any information on Mary McComas and her family I would like to have it. I am trying to build a complete(I know that is impossible,) family tree for my grandchildren. Thank you.
Bonnie Lee

Hi Jenny
The Brammer family I am tracing are also from Anston and I am fairly sure they are the same ones. I have just started tracing them for someone else (literally this morning), I have a Hannah Brammer who I believe was born in 1902 whose mother's maiden name was Cocking. If my theory is correct her parents were Thomas Brammer who married Margaret Cocking in 1889. I think Thomas was the brother of your Bernard. Does this sound correct to you? Would love to hear from you.

Louise

Harry Dow Brammer, born 10 Apr 1878, Poca, Putnam Co., WV, was son of William Joshua Brammer (1853- )and Virginia G. Holyman - they were married on 4 Jul 1877, Kanawha Co., WV. William Joshua Brammer was son of Lorenzo Dow Brammer (c.1830-1884) and Lucinda Bays - they were married 8 Jul 1852, Kanawha Co., VA (WV). William J. is on the 1860 census with his parents and siblings. The likely father of Lorenzo is Robert Brammer, born about 1788 in Franklin Co., VA. I have further info on this line. Brammer Branches newsletter, Issue 55, on Lorenzo Dow Brammer. Also, see data in the Brammer Branches database on rootsweb.com which is part of the worldconnect project.

Just read your message. I don't know much about the Brammers in Norton my reasearch is still in its early stages and my family seem to be centred in Burslem. It would be ironic if Brammers from my family were in Norton because my Grandad, whose mother was a Brammer, moved from Burslem to Norton in the 1950s and is still living there. Good luck with your research. Ellen

Re: Clark Brammer, born c.1819, Ohio

Charles:
I am researching my family line and recently received information from the National Archives about my gg-grandfather's service during the Civil War. My gg-grandfather applied for a military pension in the 1890's.
It is in this pension information that I first became aware that my gg-grandmother's maiden name was Brammer. The information also states that they were married in Carroll County, Missouri in July, 1871 (marriage record has not been found in Carroll County marriage record information). I immediately went to ancestry.com census records to see if there were any Brammer families living in Carroll County, MO in 1870 and found the Clark Brammer family. I am not 100% certain that Clark Brammer was my gg-grandmother's father but have reason to believe that I am going down the right path. My gg-grandmother was always known by the first name of Ella. In the information sent to the Bureau of Pensions by my gg-grandfather, he lists her name as Celinda Ellen. My first obvious thought is that the Linda Brammer listed in your posting (and in the census info.) is a shortened name for Celinda and could possibly be my gg-grandmother. I don't have an actual birthdate for my gg-grandmother but her obituary (Atchison Daily Globe, Atchison, Kansas, March 12, 1927) states that she was born March, 1852. This closely matches the birth information for Linda Brammer in your posting. The obituary also states that she was the daughter of a Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bramer. I would like to believe that I have found my gg-grandmother's family but at this point I am only speculating.
I am curious to know if you have found out any additional information about the Clark Brammer family since you posted your message in 2002. Any information or feedback that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
J. Edwards

I'm not sure if this is related or not. My G-G-Grandfather is William Brammer, son of George Brammer. George was married to Mary (Lee) and also had a daughter, Hannah. I can't find any reference of Hannah past the 1851 census though. She was 4 months old at that time. George lists his birthplace as Durham/Barnard Castle, while everyone else is Leeds.
