However, when he signed the ship's manifest to leave Sicily, he signed as Brancaccio, as did his wife.<br><br>The Brancaccio name is traced to 700 AD. This was a prominent family who resided in the Palacio Brancaccio outside of Rome. Today the palace is used as a large convention center.
