I am not sure about your ggrandmother as referenced but there was an Araminta Harris Brand that was married to Zachariah K Brand (killed in the Civil War) Somewhere I read that she was referred to as Minnie, but this woman would have been much older than your Minnie. She was an Alabaman and had 2 sons at the time she filed a widows pension.
