The only John Brandel I can find that was married to Louise Heidemenn was born in Oct of 1871 of Manitowoc, Wi. This birth date was confirmed in the Wisconsin Historical Society. I can find anything on John Brandel married to Louise Heidemann born in Oct of 1869. Is it the same John? I don't know. I went to find-a-grave web site and I found John Brandel born on the dates you have. But I find nothing else to support that year and month. Where did you find the information you have. Thanks Ken

Mrs. Heideman and Mrs. Awe Called to Final Rest
Death claimed two pioneer residents of the city Friday, both having resided in the county for more than a half century of years. Mrs. Henrietta Heideman, widow of the late Fred Heideman, whose death occurred a year ago, passed away at her home, 1211 Washington street, death being due to old age. She was born in Germany Jan. 17, 1838 and came to this city in the early fifties. Mrs. Heideman is survived by
nine children, Charles, Green Bay; Mrs. W. Carle, Mrs. G. Winkleman, this city; Mrs. A. Leverenz, Milwaukee; August, Galveston; Frederick, this city; Mrs. J. Brandel, Monico Jct., and Emil of Green Bay. Thirty-one grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lutheran church.

I have pictures of Henry Brandel who is brother of Ella. John who is father of Henry, his father's name is Joseph Brandel. Mother's name is Theresa Schussel. I believe they came from Bavaria. As far as the Heidemann's you have as much information as I do. However, there is a Helen Molle who is with ancestry who is one generation up. She knows where Louise Heidemann is buried and is decendant of Lillian Brandel. Do you have any information on Helen? I bet she has more pictures.

Yes, my Louise A. J. Heidemann Brandel was born 6 April 1877 in Manitowoc City, WI to Friedrich Heidemann b. 1828 and Henriette Busse b. 1839. Louise married John Brandel 20 December 1894 in Manitowoc County, WI. I am decended from Louise's first born daughter, Ella E. Heidemann born 10 Februrary 1894, so it would appear we are cousins. The information I was told is that Ella's natural father died in a bridge accident, or on a bridge (no one seems real clear on that) before he and Louise could marry. Louise and John went on to have at least eight children together. Any further information on the family that you might have would be great - also, I would love to have copies of any photographs of the family (e-mailed are fine) and any family stories you may have. As one of the "outcast" sides of the family, I did not get much information and I miss not knowing the stories of the ancestors!!

I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather Ferdinand Brandl/Brandel who immigrated to the US in 1888. He was married to Anna Moser/Mose. He had a son George

In the book "Declaration of Intent to Become a Citizen, Dubuque County, Iowa". Ferdinand Brandl signed a declaration of intent to become a citizen on Oct 20, 1891. Further, he was 27 years old at the time he signed, he was "Bavarian" and landed in this country 03 Oct 1888.

Still looking for death notices for Anton & catherine Hart Brandel Thier daugther Anna was supposedly born Manitowoc, WI, area about 1866 and married in Oconto , WI 1885 WHICH I HAVE. They are assummed to have lived in Oconto at that time. I have checked with the Catholic church and some death records are missing. The Oconto Cemeterys have nothing.The state pre 1907 have nothing.

So, I checked the records I have, and it turns out that Anton and Anna were not on the Brandel side, but the Benishek side of my family. I will still ask around and let you know if I find anything.

Hi,
I'm Erin Brandel Dykhuizen. Brandel is my maiden name. My father is Michael John Brandel of Appleton, WI. My Grandfather was Herbert Victor Brandel (lived and died in Manitowoc, but was born on a farm outside of Manitowoc), and I believe his mother was Anna Brandel. Grandpa Brandel died in 2001 in Manitowoc, I think his mother died in the late 80's/early 90's -- I didn't know great grandma well at all.
If you want more info, I can ask my dad for more exact dates. Antone sounds familiar, two. I'll have to go look at some of the old photos.

Searching for information re: Ludwig Brandel. He was born 8 Apr 1856 in Baden, Russia and immigrated via Canada in 1910, age 53. Spouse was Barbara Schaumloeffel and they resided in Oakes, ND after arriving in the United States. The surname was sometimes written as Brendel and also Brandle. Children were Ludwig Jr, Joseph, Frances, Veronica, Regina, Barbara, Benedict and Margaret. Ludwig died in 1927 and Barbara in 1926. Would like to know if Ludwig had siblings and also the name of his parents.

Do you know John Brandel's mother's maiden name? John had an older brother (half-brother actually) Wolfgang that is in my family tree. Have been trying to gather information about wolfgang's father, Joseph Brandl and Joseph's two wives. the first wife and Wolfgang's mother was Theresa Kerscher. Trying to verify the maiden name for his second wife, also Theresa. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Have quite a bit of information on Wolfgang if you are interested and some on the other brothers and sisters.

I am looking for my gg-grandfather, Andrew Brandel. I have little information on him. We have a very approximate birthdate of about 1819. He was born in Germany. His wife's first name was Catherine born abt. 1829 in Prussia. They had several children, Robert (my g-grandfather) born in 1856, John 1849, Frank 1853, Anna, 1858, Joseph 1860, Margaret 1863, Andrew 1866, and Rosey 1870.

My grandfather lived in Allegany, Cattaraugus County, NY as it is believe his father did. We "assume" Andrew and Catherine lived in that vacinty somewhere too.

Because of the difference in dates, my Charles was born around 1824 I don't think we can find a direct connection without your George's parents, do you know who they were? I know my great grandfather, Valentine Luppert was in New York for five years before going to Michigan to live with his uncle Charles. It's possible he lived in New York during that time with another uncle. 1868/69 is when he went to Michigan. Sorry, but if you find a connection, let me know directly at PKgaulke@aol.com

Hi, Just got the tree from dad. Our George Brandel was born 1824 and was married to a Barbara. They had a son Martin N. Brandel 1851-1890(married an Elizabeth C. Griese 1855-1920) There were 4 sons from this marriage and one daughter. Martin1873-1942(married Louise Shickluna), George Francis1875-?,Frank J.1877-1950, Florence 1879, and Edward J. 1884-1915.
The family was in Lancaster but we cant find any records. They moved to Buffalo.

My Grandfather was George Barker Brandel. He was born in 1883, was orphaned in 1890 or thereabouts and lived/was adopted by the Loesch Family of Lancaster NY. He had a brother who lived and worked in Detroit - I think. His father was William and mother was Amelia - at least according to his deather certificate. Any connection to your Brandels?

Chatting with my sister in Mich I learned that in the vast box of pictures there is one of Ethel Wager, whom we think, was a girlhood friend of one of the Reid girls from the Thumb area. Karen, in answer to your question about my grandfather and what I know: I never knew him as he died in 1927. He was a traveling salesman for McNess and Company and travelled near Cass City MI. He was born Henry Rawlings Wager in September 17 1862 somewhere in Canada. His parents were James Franklin Wager and Jane Rawlings. Some notes writen by my fmother indicate that James was Irish and Dutch. And Jane was English. I have been unable to locate his birthplace but haven't really worked on it. He taught school before becoming a salesman. He had polio as a child and attended Ferris Institute in Big Rapids MI. I'm at my daughter's visiting for a week and that is the info she has in her geneology file - I don't know that I have any more at home in LA. Are you a Wager family member?

Yes!! Catherine Wager is my Aunt Kate who lives in Kalamazoo Michigan. I just visited her in August and the 5th is indeed her birthday. She is the last living daughter of Henry Wager, who was my grandfather. Would be happy to correspond on the topic of Wagers.

In 1870 he was living with Charles Brandel in Wacousta with wife Frances and 8 children, George 19; Frances, 18; Mary (could be Margaret), 16; Catherine, 14; John, 11; Peter, 9; Elizabeth, 9; Louis, 4. What we have so far:
Margaret Brandel married John Helt.
They had four children, one was Clara Adele.
Clara married John Herring and had two children, John Jr. and Helen.
Helen married Wright Morgan, and had one child, divorced and married Alvin and had another child.
My father in law is the Morgan child, and we are trying to trace the family. Herring came from Illinois if that helps.

Am looking for ANY information on Douglas Edward Brandel. Born Nov 7, 1912 in Meriden Conn. Parents (I think) are Edward Burton Brandel---Wife______ ____ Godwin. Douglas died in Maryland in Sept 1989. I was told that Doug left CT at age 12 or 14 with no futher family connection, and that he was raised until that time by and aunt and uncle.
