Rosina (Eena)Titterton - (Morris)was my mother from her 1st marriage and Brandle was her 2nd husbands surname. George & Kate Titterton were my grandparents. Your information is correct about them. They came to Canada from England when my mother was a baby.

I believe that Eena may be Rosina Kate TITTERTON, who was born in England in 1914. Her parents were George and Kate Maria (nee LOVEGROVE). Kate Maria’s parents were James LOVEGROVE and Kate Eliza ILES. I am related through the ILES family which I have traced back to the 1600s. I would be delighted to hear from you.

I am interested in learning the family tree of the brandles that imigrated to Alberta.

I believe Jacob Brandle Sr immigrated to Canada, Married Francis, I do not know her maiden name, his son Jacob Jr was born on the boat comming to CANADA, and they first settled in Tabor Alberta, Jacob Brandle Jr married Margaret Beiglar, they moved to Vegreville Alberta started a farm and had 7 children, Marry,George,Evelyn,Raymond,Ken,Melvin,Patrick.
Jacob Jr was killed on the farm by a machine around 1953.
I am the son of Melvin Brandle who died of cancer in 1981.
If this all sounds familiar I am one of your over 300 cousins.

I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather Ferdinand Brandl/Brandel who immigrated to the US in 1888. He was married to Anna Moser/Mose. He had a son George

In the book "Declaration of Intent to Become a Citizen, Dubuque County, Iowa". Ferdinand Brandl signed a declaration of intent to become a citizen on Oct 20, 1891. Further, he was 27 years old at the time he signed, he was "Bavarian" and landed in this country 03 Oct 1888.

They had son named Adam (my grandfather) who left Unity Saskatchewan and raised his family near Edson Alberta. Peter Wolf and his wife, Barbara Quirin immigrated to Altoona, Pennsylvania with their children,Jacob,Katherine, Barbara, Adolph, Margaret, John, Peter and Elizabeth, Mary was born in Altoona.Peter died in 1894. Hi,

I am trying to find information on the three daughters of Johannes/John Braendle and his wife Barbara who I believe married Keller brothers. Benjamin Keller was married first to Sophia Braendle and after her death married the sister Sarah. I believe Mary Ann Braendle was the wife of Menno Keller, Benjamin and Menno both moved from the Waterloo area to Michigan.

I have found this in the 1851 Census of Wellesley, Waterloo and believe it to be the parents of Johannes/John Braendle. Not sure of the wife's name, it's a little hard to make out, but the ages correspond with the list below the census information:

For some time I have been searching for information about Amalia Reiling who married a Brandle. She was born 23 July 1840 in Ersingen, Baden, Germany. I have a note which she wrote to her brother in German. That is the only key I have to her married name. They lived in Hamilton Co, Illinois and she was thought to be in the St Louis area. Any connection?

Dear Barbara, so glad to hear that you have a Brandle in the Family too. Our Brandles came to St. Louis. Mo. !850s from Switzerland. As far as I can tell Rudulf Brandle came as a carpenter. They trained them quite well and the big city needed them. He then joined the Union Army under Gen. Lyons out of St. Louis. He married a Maria Krug(an American-born of German parents from New York or New Jersey). They lived in Illinois,Missouri and Kansas. They returned to St. Louis,Mo. where some of our family is still.We still have many unanswered questions ourselves. Rudulf as far as I have heard did not have family. But maybe he did?

welcome to the Brandl (and variants) Board! Nice to see one of our surname-cousins drop by ;-)

I hope you'll get any replies to your query, maybe some time later if anybody with a connection (or information) reads your message.

You wrote it's hard for you to get ahold of your grandfather (and maybe other members of the family too, if there are any?). Talking to ones own dad, granddad etc. anyway is the primary approach to your family history, especially if your questions are related to people still alive - but I'm not telling you a secret here, I know ; )

Given that it may be difficult for you to talk to your granddad (and possibly your father?), maybe you can still make him/them search for some of their basic documents like birth or marriage certificates and send you copies? This way you would have a good starting point for further researching your family.

My father died 3 years ago - I can't tell you how *many* questions I have had on my mind since that I would've liked to ask him. Most of them will be left without an answer since he was the last one in my family who could have known....

In researching other surnames in Aberdeen, Brown County, South Dakota, United States of America this summer, I came across the following in "Baptisms 1880 to 1911" (page 31) at Sacred Heart Church (Catholic):

birth date: 11 Sept 1898
baptismal date: 18 Sept 1898
residence: Aberdeen
father: Jacob Brandle (again, "Brondel" was crossed out and corrected)
mother: Francisco (sic) Volig
male sponsor: Engelbert Miller
female sponsor: Maria Bachmeir (?)
minister: Rev. J. O'Hora [a Catholic priest]

This information is all I know about this BRANDLE. I tried to corroborate the information on the South Dakota birth records web site, and found nothing at all, even though he was born more than one hundred years ago.

Hi Raymond, I have a Raymond Brandle in El Mirage, Arizona in my family line. He's married to a Jean. He does not know me. I'm working with his brother John to build our family
tree.John lives in Indiana. If you go to Ancestry.com put George Brandle into Search Engine. Raymond is the son of Albert Leo.,son of Frank X., son of George. George died in
Altoona Pa. Frank and Albert lived and died in Geistown,
Cambria Co. Pa. Near Johnstown Pa.Many of the Brandle
women ended up in California. Frank had 11 children, not
all the info I have is online. But I postal mail it to Family.

here's what I have:

John William Brandle b:6/6/1926 in Illinois.

His father John Frederick Brandle b:6/5/1895in Missouri.
m.Louise Stumpf b:9/6/1897

His father John Frederick Brandle b8/1/1864 Missouri.m.
Katherine ? b. 3/31/1869

His father, according to his death cert. was Joseph, no list of his mother.

In 1870 census I found no Brandle but a Brandli, the birth year for John was correct but i can find no other in for on them or any of the family. I hope someone can help.

My grandmother was Anna Ursula Brandl, father was Michael Brandl I could never locate. On the ship she immigrated on, it listed her birthplace as Kaltenthal, Germany. She lived in Piopolis illinois as did her sisters.
Michael Brandl was married to Dorothy Hoelze and had children, Anna Ursula b Sept 1847, Catherine, b Oct 1839, Barbara b April 1842, and Anne b Apr 1845

Another thought..illinois has a statewide marriage index thats accessable on line. see what you can find there. Not all of the counties are listed (like hamilton county where some Brandls lived) but many are.

My grandmother, Theresa Brandl migrated from Austria to Chicago in 1922. Her father's name was Jacob Brandl. Jacob did not move to Chicago, but 3 of his 14 sibling's (Frank, Wenzel, Mary) did.

Jacob stayed in Austria. I have found his grave location via the internet. He is buried in Machlinec, Galitzia (Was Austria, now Ukraine). I don't know of any of my Brandl family that was born in the states. All born in Europe.

I have a Charles P Brandle, who was born about 1872 in Illinois. I think his father may have been from Switzerland. Charles married Isbella "Belle" Keller, born in 1874 in Missouri. They had one son, Theodore C Brandle, born about 1893 in Missouri. He married Nola, born about 1897. They had one child, June, born about 1917 in Missouri.

I don't think I'll be able to help you. My Brandls originate (I think) in Austria, and I have no idea whether any of them made it to America with that same last name.

But because genealogy is all about seeking (and sometimes finding!) needles in haystacks, what do you have for names and dates?

Where did Jacob end up? My GGrandfather was John Frederick and his father was Joseph I've been told but can't prove anything..... John was supposeably born in Missouri in 1866. But the only thing I can find is a 1870 census that I think fits for Joseph Brandli. Any help would be appreciated.
