Charles J. and Robert J. Stoecklin are indeed brothers. The information about Julia, however, is incorrect. Charles J. was married to Caroline Klump Stoecklin. Robert J. was married to Julia Poole; they had a son, Robert William Stoecklin, who is also buried in that plot. Milly Barman Stoecklin was not his mother - Julia was, as he was born 12 May 1905. I think I might contact Mike Cusick about the relationships.

William F. Stoecklin (1862-1910) is my gr-grandfather.

I was looking on findagrave.com for Stoecklin at Vine Street Hill Cemetery:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSiman...

You mentioned that Robert Stoecklin's first wife was Julia Stoecklin (d: 17 Jun 1923). In looking at at Julia, the entry states:
Julia Stoecklin
Birth: unknown
Death: Jun. 17, 1923
Note: Age 37y Spouse: Charles Stoecklin

Then under Charles Stoecklin:
Birth: unknown
Death: Jan. 2, 1940
Note: Age 80y Spouse: Julia Stoecklin Father: Jacob Stoecklin

Is this the same Julia you mentioned as married to Robert John Stoecklin?

Here is what it has for Robert Stoecklin:
Birth: unknown
Death: Nov. 13, 1936
Note: Age 58y 6m 2d Spouse: Milly Barman Father: Jacob Stoecklin Mother: Anna Stoecklin

It looks like Robert & Charles are at least brothers.

What do you think?

I made a mistake when inserting that 1910 census record into my tree. You are correct, she was listed as Milly Barman, not Milly Brandley in the 1910 Census. The source information I posted is correct.

In 1910, I found her married to Andy J. Barman with 5yo daughter, Evelyn, in Cincinnati Ward 19 so she could have been listed 2x? I have found other instances where someone get listed more than once in the same census.

I will add your information to my tree for Milly. For me, she is on my 'fringes', as second wife to Robert John Stoecklin without any issue (he is in the 1st native-born generation of my Stoecklins). Love those names that change with almost every census. I have found phonetics a way of life with several of mine - Stoecklin being one of them.

Robert John Stoecklin is the younger brother of my gr-gr-grandfather, William Frank Stoecklin. Robert's first wife, Julia C. Poole, died 17 Jun 1923. They are both buried at Vine Street Hill Cemetery. I have a date of death for Millie of 15 Aug 1942 in Hamilton County, Ohio. I believe I found a reference to Millie Barman Stoecklin while looking at cemetery records but couldn't lay my hands on it tonight.

My great Aunt, Josephine Kilphouse, was married to Walter G. Brandley. Walter was a native of Salt Lake City, Utah. He had a brother, Clarence Brandley. In a newspaper clipping dated 4/11/1940, Walter is hailed a hero WWI, receiving both the purple and silver heart for bravery. His brother, Clarence, has a small bit at the end of the clipping, it reads:
"His brother, Clarence Brandley, who was with the fifty-eighth infantry, is still in Frances-in a cross-marked grave. He was killed at the Vesle River".

I don't know if this is your Clarence. I wish I had more information for Clarence, but I don't, just the clipping.

Brandley left
Gray's body lying in the road where it was found several hours
later.

Two weeks ago Brandley and Gray quarreled over a load of wood
which Gray said belonged to him, but which Brandley claimed.
During the quarrel Gray shot at Brandley with small bird shot,
but only grazed him with a few shot.

The men had not met since the shooting until Monday morning
when Gray, riding horseback, met Brandley in a buggy. Brandley
leveled a shotgun and fired, the load taking effect in the
right breast killing Gray instantly. Brandley telephoned the
officers of Caddo county at Anadarko and gave himself up.

***posted for genealogical purposes only; no relation***
Was checking posts for Schellman's from Ohio, in particular, Caroline Schellman. Caroline was married to Joseph C. Schutte. Wondered if this particular family of Schellman's were a part of your family history?

Thanks. This sounds very possible, since Godfrey is used as a middle name in the next generation. It is possible that his father, Henry, also had the name of Godfrey as a middle name. He was born Dec, 1848 Switzerland -- if the info I was given is true. Any other bits of info will be appreciated. Send to: tipladd@hotmail.com
We have in our line: Anna Maria and Elizabeth Brandley, b-5 May1846 Wilaberg Canton, Switz, twins married Lewis Godfrey and Charles Godfrey in Seneca Co., Ohio. Came to America after 1846 and before 1861. Maybe cousins to your relative??

George & Louisa Brandley - Switzerland?

George (~1826->1920) & Louisa Brandley were reportedly from Switzerland, although he was in Phila. for 1920 census. Children were Lewis, Augusta, William, Minnie, Bertha, & Louisa. Daughter Louisa (1865-1928) m. Henry Schweitzer (1850-1900) ~1886, & they had children Caroline & Henry, in Phila, PA. The name seems to have been spelled "Brandley" in the US, but I wonder if it might have been spelled differently overseas. Do any of these folks sound familiar to anyone?
