Bert Brands, 83, a resident of the Broadway Hotel, Bangor, died Sunday. Formerly a slater, he was last employed by the Blue Ridge Textile Co., Bangor. Born in Knowlton Township, Warren County, he was a son of the late David B. and Sarah E. (Banghart) Brands. His wife, the former Martha Amy, died in 1953. Surviving are a son Melvin of Bangor and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Miller Funeral Home, Bangor. Viewing will be 7-9 p.m. today.
