Surnames: Brannan, McCormack, Farrell
My Great Grandmother, Catherine Farrell, had an illegitimate son John Farrell and his father was recorded as John Brannan on his birth certificate.
I have only hearsay information which states he MAY have been a tinker (although recorded on birth cert as coalminer) and he MAY have been irish.
He MAY have later married Cissie McCormack from Cleland, Lanarkshire.
I am desperate for a clue to who my great grandfather was and his family. Can you help?
