I am a descendant of Harrison Branscomb. My Great great grandfather, Charles Alfred Alcorn married Nancy Elizabeth Branscom (Harrison's daughter) I would be interested in reading the letters you offered to email if it would not be too much trouble.
The "Fronia" you refer to might be Frona Twyford. Nancy Elizabeth remarried to George Twyford (sometime after 1886) after Charles Alcorn died in 1884. I have a Frona Twyford listed as a daughter. I haven't done much research there yet, but you may check my tree on ancestry to see if it helps.
So many girls named Mary were called Polly then. So her middle name was Ann? I have birth years for most of her siblings but I don't have dates for Polly, Calvin W., Elizabeth A., or Thomas J.
Hello-My great-great-grandmother was Ellen Branchcomb. She was a sister of Edward Branchcomb Sr. of Emporia, VA (Hicksford).
Ellen married Joseph Hubbard Jr. of Emporia. They had a daughter, Mary Bettie (my great-grandmother). Mary later moved to Nofolk, VA where she married Walter McCoy. I know that Edward Jr. and his wife Mary Georgia Etta eventually moved to Norfolk. Edward died in Norfolk on August 26, 1952.
Georgia died in Norfolk in May 1969.
Perhaps this information will provide a link between our families.

My mothers maiden name was Branscum, she was the daughter of James Lewis Branscum. Could you tell me if the family of Isaac Thomas Branscum is listed in the book. My grandfather was born in Stone County. I just love to read about the family and where they originated. Do the entries go back to England? DorothyJordan@charter.net

I am looking for any information on Margie Branscum who was born about 1893 in Arkansas and who died in 1976. She was my great-grandmother. My grandfather was Sherman Treat born in 1916 in Arkansas. Her husband and my great-grandfather was William Mason Treat - Son of John Stephen Treat and Josephine Huffines.

I only know her approximate birthdate from Census records after she married William Mason. I have one photo of her with another man identified on the back of the photo as JC Branscum son of Jim Branscum. My mother says that it is a photo of her brother. Therefore, I think her brother is JC Branscum and her father is Jim Branscum but I don't have any other information. I would greatly appreciate any help in positively identifying her family. She lived in the Big Flat and Moro Arkansas areas in the mid 1900s. I also know that sometime after William Mason Treat died she remarried to a "Doc" Reid.

KY and then on to Johnson Co Illinois is almost certainly my certainly my ancestor.

Could you send me the address of Mr Tubbs? I have one that is several years old.

Just in case anybody is tracking, Elizabeth Branscomb, daughter of David, marries Andrew J. May. Their daughter Milda marries first Starling Simmons, then Moses Carlock and then Daniel Thomas Carlock, all in Illinois. Milda has one child by Moses, George Pinckney Carlock my great-grandfather.

I was interested to find the many links to the Branscom family. I have been trying to piece things together. My ggg grandfather is Nathaniel Thomas Branscom - one of the many children of Edmond. I can connect the tree back a few more generations but would like more info on the brothers/sisters and cousins of Edmond and farther back - and am looking for info regarding Cynthia J Harmon married to Nathaniel Thomas - I have several variations of her name and spelling. Family lore has it she was Cherokee but we are very unsure about this.... I can find Nathaniel's grave but no grave for her in Tennessee where he and several of the children died. There is one grave stone of a child with both parents names on it so I know she exsisted at some point!! I am at a brick wall right now and any help would be fabulous!!! You can email me at ahale5@yahoo.com

Harrison Branscum (born 1820) Wayne County, Ky

Harrison Branscum (Branscomb) (Branscom) was born 1820, Wayne County, Kentucky. Married Mary "Polly" Hamilton. Their children were: Charles, Mary A., Nancy E., Joseph A., Thomas, and John. Harrison moved to Carroll County, Berryville, Arkansas, in the late 1900's, where he died. Also some of the family lived in Shannon County, Missouri.

I have some letters written by members of the Harrison Branscum family to my ancestor, James A. Alley, living in Wayne County, Kentucky, in the early 1900's. I'd be willing to email copies of these letters if anyone is interested.

One of the letters was written from Shannon County, Winona, Missouri, in 1903. The writer signs her name as "Fronia." Who was this? From the letter it sounds like she was a granddaughter of Harrison Branscum. She addresses my ancestors as "Uncle, Aunt, and Cousins," so I am trying to find out what the connection was.

Also, I am interested in finding information on Harrison's daughter Nancy Elizabeth Branscum and particularly her second husband George W. Twyford (born 1850). I have a letter written from Kansas by "G.W. Twyford" to my ancestor in 1889.

Also, I am interested in finding information about Harrison's son Tom Branscum and his wife Mary C. Twyford. Also seeking information on the Twyford family. Mary's father George Twyford (born 1824) was a Confederate soldier under General John Hunt Morgan. He died in the northern prison, Camp Douglas in Chicago.
Her name was Cassie Lucinda Balentine and I am looking for more info on her side of family. There are a lot of Branscum's out there but you are a direct relative to my family as Grandpa Branscum got married one more time after Cassie to my grandmother Nancy Ann Stewart and had my father Thurman Emanuel Branscum.

I am trying to help my BIL find a brother that he has never met. His father, Noel Ernest Branscum Sr., passed away this past weekend, Nov 29, 2003. Noel Sr. had three children with his second wife, Nell. We do not know anything about his first marriage which resulted in the birth of Noel's first son. This son was born around 1960-1963. We do not know his name. The other 3 children from the second marriage cannot close any of their father's bank accounts without the oldest son. I am hoping by chance that someone will know this family and can help them get in touch with their half-brother.
Thank you
