Hi jean
I don't know much I'm afraid I've just started to look into Johns family (mine is not so easy!).
John, my partners grandfather (son of John and Catherine) was married twice, the first time 1896, but by the time of the 1901 census he was widowed.
I understand from family stories he lived a short while in Canada, then returned to marry (at 46) Alice Rosina Prior (also a widow) in December 1919. They had 3 children - John, from Alice's first marriage, Alice (born 1921), and John (born 1924).
John senior had married Agnes ?? and adopted a girl, she subsequently married, but was also unable to have children, so she adopted two children. John and Agnes have passed away - not sure of date.
Alice never married, but was a very dear auntie to my two children, she died in July 2004.
John jnr married Patricia Sullivan, they had one child, my partner John, in October 1953. Both his parents have sadly passed away.
John and I have two children, Victoria, born in 1988 and John (again) in 1991. This is where the line ends, hopefully for the moment.
Regards
Cathy
