hi Tricia,

Thanks for the link but it did not work. I had to go to the familysearch.org website and click on books. From there you can type in the title and download the book. The link that shows is the link you gave, but you can't get there by plugging it in the address spot. Thanks again!

-Jeff

Hi Ron,
Unfortunatley no, the book focuses on previous generations and hardly touches on descendents passed John C Brasted in our line. The database created by Jeff(posted in above threads) is wonderful and does contain a Nicholas Brasted with an obit that confirms he was the son of John C. Here is a the web address for the book:

https://dcms.lds.org/view/action/ieViewer.do?from_proxy=true...

I found it in the book section of familysearch.org. I hope it helps and happy hunting!

-Tricia

Hello. I've been researching the Braisted/Brasted line in Steuben County for my boyfriend who descends from Ruth, Floyd, Herbert, William, John C, Isaac. I recently came across a family history written by Maryett Brasted Schell of Howard New York entitled "A History of the Van Breestedes of New Amsterdam Now the Brasted, Braisted and Breasted Families of America" and published in 1909. She was the youngest of John C Brasted. Have you seen this? I was also wondering if you had any early birth/marriage/death records.

-Tricia

Thanks,
Pretty much anything and everything. I got stuck on Francis and could not find anything else. Of course my dad is no help, as he was raised mainly in foster homes as a child. His father has passed on, and the only uncle I can get a hold of is not very helpful. I actually haven't worked on this for a while, I started college in the spring. But I was planning on starting some research again as I have the summer off. Thanks in advance.............................Heather

I have recently scanned a copy of the 1908 Canisteo High School Yearbook. The person named in the subject line appears in this book as an alumni.

To view the pages of the 1908 Senior Annual - go to the site listed below:

http://communities.msn.com/TheSeniorAnnual1908CanisteoHighSc...

There is no charge to view or to copy any or all of the pages! I have found such delight from this book and felt selfish not to share with other genealogists! (To copy an image, place your cursor on the image and click your right mouse button. Choose to "Save Picture As" and name your own copy!)

Please enjoy your visit. Leave me a message while you're there - I'd love to hear from you. And if the images are not clear - I need to know that as well!

Shari B-)
DECKER/BRASTED Family Bible

Hello!
I am interested in locating the Decker/ Brasted family Bible. This Bible was offered for sale on Ebay in 2000. This is a leather-bound Bible printed in 1814 and contains entries for James Brasted who was born in 1776 to Selar Brasted Decker, who was killed in the Battle of Resaca Tennessee at age 19 on March 15, 1864. Any assistance in locating this Bible is appreciated.
Lori Skinner MacCormack

Hi DeVere:

I have worked on your line for a good while & I have some confused info. I think that if we work together we can make some links and give you a clean line back to the early 1600s.

My records have a DeVere Brasted b. abt 1891 in Wis, or IL.
Father was Charles E. Brasted b. 12/1866 married to Mary Louise Unknown b. 12/1867 in Wis.

Charles E.s parents were Daniel Brasted/Braisted and Rebecca Manah and/or Maria. There seem to be two lines but I think that it is really one and that Charles had 2 or more wives. If we can exchange info I think that we can fill in many years of history in your line.

I hope to hear from you.
Regards,
T. J. Seeley

She was the daughter of Silas Brasted and Mary or Polly Smiley. Eunice married George W. Jones, but may have had a second husband.
