I am looking for my half-brother, Raymond Guy Bratton. Son of James Edward Bratton and Phyllis B. Bratton. He would be between 35 and 45, and I have lost connection with him. The last time I heard news of him he was in the Virgina Beach, Virgina area.

I have a Jacob Bratton in our tree (Carlisle)only he was born in 1815. He was married to Rebecca Saviers after another lady only known as Mary. Nothing is known about what happened to Mary. I only show 1 child, Hannah J. Bratton b. 1839 of his. He died on 4/19/1845 but played a very instrumental part in our family's ownership of an Inn in Guernsey Co., Ohio where he lived.

My grandmother was Minnie L Poole (maiden name). I'm trying to find out if your Minnie and mine are the same person. Mine was born in Searcy, Arkansas in the 1800s and later married a James Franklin Dunivan. Are you certain of the marriage record you have listed? Thanks for any response or information you can share with me.

Jimandsharynp@cfl.rr.com

I am of the Delaware Bratton line, the state line being just a few niles below Chester and Bethel. Samuel is of great interest to me as he seems to be the only one of the four brothers who stayed in the general area of southeast Pennsylvania. My great, great grandfather wiwth Abraham Bratton, born 1791, probably either in that area of southeast PA., or in Delaware. Thus far I believe that his father was named Thomas and that he was named Abrahm after the father of Elizabeth Staats. Elizabeth married a Thomas Bratton again "probably" somewhere around the 1780s. The Staats family was of Dutch origin, originally landing in New York, settling on a parcel now known as Staten Island.
Anything anyone can provide as to children of Samuel could be of great help in filling an important gap in my research.

Tom Bratton (Edward Thomas Bratton)

MATTCPE, I'd love to know more about your Gallahers and anything you might know about Lucretia's husband, William Bratton.- Harriet's husband John apparently descends from the Nottingham Reynolds who are part of my direct line as well.

-Mary

We had an Isaac in our family, buried in the same plot as my great, great grandfather Abraham Bratton (1791-1886) of Delaware and southeastern Penna. I'm not certain the relationship but assume that he was a brother? As families were wont to do in those days your Isaac could have been somehow related to the original Bratton line I mentioned in my note, the four brothers who came over from Donegal in 1733, probably through the port of Philadelphia? tom bratton

Re: SARAH BRATTON

There were a number of Bratton branches in Delaware throughout the 18th century. My great great grandfather was Abraham Bratton, born in 1791. My research thus far indicates that he was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Bratton. Thomas was born in 1756 and baptized in the Old Swedes Chruch (circa 1650) in Wilmington. There were a number of Bratton families headed by at least one John and one Robert in Brandywine Hundred (later Wilmington, Delaware). The archives in Dover DE have much information, but most of which is in the form of wils, probate, property deeds, et cetera, as official documentation such as birth and death records outside the church are scarce or non existant. I do know that my family had a number of Sarahs, a popular name at the time. Tom Bratton (evtom4942@cox.net)

My great grandfather was Tullie James Bratton (electrician)b. 10 June 1886, New Carlisle, OH. He was married to Margaret E. Engel b. abt 1890. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any info on him before he was married in 1907, Ohio. Together they had 11 children of which their oldest, William Engel Bratton was my grandfather. I do know they moved to Detroit by 1913 when their 3rd child, Thelma L, was born. I have the Ohio census for 1910 and the Detroit census for 1920 and 1930. I also have a Registration Card dated 5 June 1917. If anyone has any info on him before his marriage I would appreciate the help.

Hello, Tullie James Bratton was also my Great-Grandfather and I too have been trying to gather information about him and Margaret Engel. I would love to have the opportunity to share information that we both have. I have some information on his parents and I remember his brother visiting us many times when I was very young. Are you a decendent of Beverly or Billy? Thelma Louise was my grandmother and David Franklin Bratton was my father. Do you have contact with any other cousins from the Bratton line? Could you list all 11 children? I have knowledge of only 9 pregnancies and 8 children. I have many questions and I am sure you do, too. Is there a safe way for us to exchange email, addresses or phone numbers? Are you in Michigan, too?
