I checked the BRDA (Baton Rouge diocesan archives) and did not find anything about Arthur b. ca 1868, but I have found a Charles Henry Braud b. 5 nov 1878 and bt. 24 nov 1878 in Donaldsonville; he was the son of Norbert Braud and Melvina Leblanc. This is the further I can go on that family as these Brauds are of black origin in Louisiana.

PS: In this family, there is a son called Nicolas Arthur, b. 6 dec 1869 and bt. 16 feb 1870 also in Donaldsonville
