I am trying to find my mothers' side of the family.
My mothers' name was Rheta Kay Brauer (Birt/Goodwin)born in 1944 Lake City, Iowa / daughter of Carl Brauer, born in 1901 in Carnarvon, Iowa and Margaret Firth/
Carls' father was Wubbe Brauer, who was born in 1856 in Ditzum, Ostfriesland Germany. He married Katherine Kies.
Wubbes' father was Thomas Brauer, i believe Thomas was born in 1820, and from Ditzum, Germany. He married Ettje W. Poen on March 28,1852 in Pogum, Ostfriesland, Germany. I am not positive when they immigrated to the United States. I think sometime around 1861 but not really sure about date. I also have alittle information on some marriages to my Brauer family.

I have alittle information on some of the children of Thomas and Ettje. Also have found information on Wubbe and Katies' children too. I would like any help possible to find my history. I am having difficulty researching alot of the Germany information. I speak very little German and can read alittle of it. But it would greatly help if i could find someone out there who can help me with this.
