I have information on the Brauer and Briel families in Marburg from 1500-1850. This information is in the Marburger Sippenbuch; author Dr. Kurt Stahr. If you are near a Family History Library, you can order the microfilm for viewing. FHL microfilm #0868622.
Brauer is on Band 3, pgs. 144-168
Briel is on Band 4, pgs. 12-40

If you are not near a Family History Library, you can contact the archives in Marburg for copies.

Feel free to contact me if you need more info (carla12cat@verizon.net)

My family came from Marburg also, I have records from the same book on the Sauer and Schaaf families as well, just in case you run across these names.
