I have a Gr-Grandfather that I can't trace back before 1900 though
according to Michigan census records he was born in May of 1838. He
is listed as John (Jean Baptiste???) Breault and is of French-Canadian
decent. Unable to find immigration info. I have checked several
different spellings of first and surname and found his family in
Michigan but can't find first wife/family in Mass. I have a death
certificate for him but it doesn't give any useful identifying info. I
am wondering if the birth or immigration info on census is correct?
Also, his son, Albert was list as "Broe" during his life and I do have
his info (death and marriage). My Mom always thought her mothers'
maiden name was Alma Broe. I wold like to find more about him
pre-1900. Thank you for any leads or any other help on this.
