Braunz, Naga Kikinda, Hungary

I am looking for any Braunz families from the town of NagaKikinda, Hunguary or the surrounding area that may be relatives. Our father, Adam Braunz, was born there in 1887 and his last residence was there in 1910. He emigrated to the US in 1910 on the ship, Kronprinz Wilhelm. He lived at 2622 Ward Street, Cook County, Chicago, Ill. in 1911 according to his Declaration of Intention papers. He said that his brother, Andrew Braunz emigrated to Chicago, Ill. He met his brother, Andrew there. Sometime after 1912, he never saw his brother again. Adam changed his name to Edward Braun. Looking for any relatives of Andrew Braunz (Braun). (Andrew may have been Andres or something like it)
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

John James BRAUN/BRAWN/BRANN, London, UK

Hi all

I am TRYING to find info on John James BRAUN/BRAWN.BRANN, who might have had four children, William, bn. Southwark, 1837
Mary, bn. Mile End, London, abt 1845
Miriam, bn. Mile End, London, abt. 1848
Harriett, bn. Mile End, London, abt. 1850. My G Gmother

On Harriett's BCert., it states her mother's name as Mary Braun, formerly Kemp, and her father 's occupation as a Merchant's Clerk, but on her MCert., his occupation is an interpreter.

I have been unable to find any record of John and Mary's marriage, or any record of them on the 1841/51 Census, but it seems that they were residing in the East End.

On the 1881 census, I find that Mary has married a Jonathon Budgeon and had two further children by Jonathon.

I can find no record of a death of John James.

This guy has been driving me and my sister up the wall. We now feel that John and Mary were NOT married and that his name was used when registering. They could not have been divorced, because divorces did not come into being in the UK until 1857.

I have included Brawn as an option, as my GFather was a Henry BRAWN Edwards

Is there anyone out there tracing the Brauns in the London area at that time?

Many thanks.

Ken

I am looking for a Christina Braun that married a Frederick Barrett (or Bayrod, or similar sounding name). They would have married in the latter years of the 1700s, with children born in the 1790s.

Part of the reason I am looking for her is to verify whether or not she is the mother of Cyrus and Elias Barrett. I have been told that Frederick and Christina are, but I need to either get proof they are or that they are not. I am a direct descendant of Cyrus Barrett, b. 1797 in PA, possibly of Berks, Lancaster, Chester or Schuylkill Counties. His brother Elias was born in 1796. What I need is to find a Christina Braun who married a Frederick and had those children and possibly more.

Thanks in advance,
Sande

I believe he married Louise Krueger and they had two sons, Harold and Norman, but I have no dates or other confirmation of this. I'm assuming Louise may have remarried after Emil's death as I have been unable to locate her (yet) on the 1920 or 1930 census records.
Looking for info on accident in Cleveland, OH in Nov 1925
I was wondering if anyone might have some information or may be able to point me in the right direction as to where I might be able to find some information on a train accident that occurred on either 11 or 12 November 1925 in Cleveland, OH on the Newburgh & South Shore Railroad. The information I have so far comes from my grandfather's brother's (Raymond Braun) death certificate from Cuyahoga County. Basically there was a collision of some sort between 2 trains along the line. The hand writing is really difficult to decipher, but appears it occurred on the premises of one of the steel mills and appears that he was the only casualty. I checked the DOT special collections report and didn't find anything and am trying to locate any of the Cleveland papers that are online but haven't had any luck there either. I also live in Alpharetta, GA (north of Atlanta) and not in Cleveland, so can't make it down to check the newspaper archives in person. One other option I found was that the files and paperwork from the railroad were donated to Cleveland St. University, but they aren't online at this time. Just hoping there might be a way to find an additional avenue to look at- I may just have to make a trek to Cleveland to look for myself.

Raymond was 24 at the time of death and single at the time of death. He was employed at the Newburgh & South Shore Railroad as a fireman according to the death certificate. He was also the primary caretake and wage earner for my grandfather at the time of his death as my grandfather and his 3 sisters. My grandfather's father had died the year before and my grandfather was 3 yrs old at the time and the sisters being ages 6, 10, and 14. Their mother passed away a few years later also. All we ever heard was that he died in a train accident and was just curious as to whether there was any other information on the accident.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Chris Radek

At least that is the info my uncle was given. Also, she apparently gave birth to another child a few years later as the adoption agency contacted my grandparents rgarding adopting another of her children, and they had just adopted my mom(1941) and were unable to take this other child. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my uncle is desperated to see if he has any siblings out there. My mom found her birth family 4 years ago, so now we know it is possible!

Braun, 89, longtime Oconto Falls resident and former Mayor, died suddenly Saturday, June 2, 2007, during an evening out with his wife and some family members. He was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Blackwell, Wis., to Julius and Olga (Depner) Braun. At about the age of three years old he moved with his family to Oconto Falls, where he attended public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1936. Following graduation from high school, he worked for a few years with the WPA.

On Sept. 10, 1938, he married June Gilbertson at St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls (now Grace Lutheran Church). He had also served on the Community Memorial Hospital Board for 12 years, the Oconto County Board for 12 years, and later as Mayor of Oconto Falls for 10 years. As mayor, he was instrumental in efforts to construct the present day Oconto Falls Senior Citizen Center. In recent years Herb was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the area by being inducted into the Oconto Falls High School Wall of Fame and having a street in the city named in his honor. Together with his wife, June, they were also recognized by the Rural Urban League for their many years of dedicated service to worthy causes in the area.

Survivors are his loving wife of over 68 years, June Braun, Oconto Falls; their three daughters of whom he was so proud, Diane (Tom) Malcomson, Oconto Falls; Connie (Tom) Wenzel, St. Germain; Wendy (Don) Vogt, Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Larry (Annette) Malcomson, Green Bay; Bart (Becky) Malcomson, Appleton; Todd (Michele) Malcomson, Green Bay; Michael (Michelle) Wenzel, Appleton; Irina Vogt, Atlanta, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, Brittney Malcomson and Abby McGuire, Brady and Brynn Malcomson; one brother, Fritz (Marilyn) Braun, Hulbert, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Kostreva, Mountain; Nathalie (John) Western, Kelly Lake; one brother-in-law, Tennis Kostrova, Oconto Falls; very special neighbors and friends, Reuben and Lorraine Radke, Oconto Falls; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harlan and Gay Braun, and one sister, Alfie Kostrova.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls (920-848-2222 or visit: www.jonesfuneral.com) from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007.
Clarence Brown/Braun Chemung County, NY 1870

Clarence W. (or M.) Brown was born in Erin, Chemung County, New York in 1870. He married Evelyn Houghton (often spelled differently in censues), his second marriage. He had a daughter, Hannah, from his first marriage, and a son, George, from his second. George Brown was born in 1911 in Elmira, Chemung County, New York. He married Dorothy Agnes Giansante, born 1923 in Knox County, Ohio.
So far, I have been unable to trace backwards beyond Clarence. Apparently, he and his older sister, Sarah (b. 1865) were raised by a couple named Owen G. and Hannah Thomas, for reasons as yet unknown. I just discovered that in the 1870 census, Clarence was listed as Clarence Braun, but I have not yet been able to view the record, so I don't know if his birth parents are listed as well. If this helps forge a connection, or if anyone can help out, I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,

Augusta A. BRAUN m. Johann A. REICK in Germany, bef. 1890

I'm looking for information about an Augusta A. BRAUN who married Johann A. REICK in Germany (I assume) sometime prior to 1890. Specifically, I am looking for information re: her parents/siblings, but I would also welcome other information.

Augusta and John had eight children, six of whom were born in the U.S. (New Jersey, to be exact).

Although the 1910 Census has them living in Phillipsburg, Warren Co., New Jersey with their children, this census also states that the pair and their 2 oldest children immigrated to the U.S. in 1891 -- NOT possible, since their 2nd oldest child (Minna) was born December 1892 IN GERMANY.

Their children were: Frederick, Minna (a.k.a. Minnie), Charles, John Jr., Carolina (a.k.a. Caroline), Henry, Anna (a.k.a. Annie) and Frank.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

I am looking for more information on my ancestors, Ludwig Braun (changed his name to Louis Brown) and his wife, Sophia Muller.

Ludwig was born May 1827 (according to 1900 census) in Baden, Germany, and died after Jun 1900. He was a Tailor by trade.

Sophia was born about 1829 in Holstein / Holland / Germany (depending on the census) and died before 1900.

I have reason to believe that Sophia may have been from the Mecklenburg-Strelitz region, and that this was the region they departed from in Germany. They both migrated from Germany to New York City around 1854.

Here is a list of their children:

Louisa Brown, b. abt 1854
Adolph Brown b. abt 1856
Hermann Brown b. abt 1858
Bertha Brown b. abt 1859
Robert Brown b. 3 Sep 1864
Amelia Brown b. abt 1863
Edward Brown b. abt 1865
Sophia Brown b. abt 1870

All of the information that I have on these Brauns/Browns can be accessed from Ludwig's page (using links on the page to view the other people):
http://www.kmbinnovations.com/genealogy/getperson.php?person...

Any help you can pass on in locating Ludwig or Sophia's parents or their home town of origin would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much!

Mary Braun information

My GGG grandmother's maiden name was Braun. She lived in America (not sure when her family migrated over).

Her first husband was a Henry Doering (b:1859 d:June 8 1873), and they had six children - Anna Mary Doering (1859), August Doering (1861), John Adolph Doering (1863), Anna Kristine Doering (1869), Emuel "Amiel" Doering (1872), and Anna Margaret Doering (whom I think went by Anna Katherine. Either it was her or sister Anna Mary).

After Henry Doering died of complications after the civil war, Mary Braun married a second time to a William Saul on the 27th of January 1867 (he too had lost his wife, Margaret/Mary O'Conner. They had four children).

The only other information I know of Mary Braun is that she had a brother named John Braun. I also think that since her daughter Anna Katherine died in West Frankfort, Franklin County, Illinois, Mary Braun might be around there also. Perhaps she's even buried in the same cemetery called Harrison in Buckner, Illinois.

Thanks.

I found on the Ohio Death index site there was a Victoria Braun who died 3/13/1913 in Hamilton Co. I have an old picture of her that belonged to my father. I am trying to see if she is kin to Dora Braun, who married Anton Grimm in Cincinnati circa 1890 or so.
Can anyone check the 1910 census for me to see if she is in there? And any help with this request is very much appreciated!
Changed his name to his mother madien name (Welting) and went by Frank Lawerance Welting. Father was sadi to have been a mayor or burgermister in Germany. He must have had relaives living in KY under Braun at the time. Rumor was that Frank changed his name because of a untimely death of a peer in Germany.
