Hi Peter,
Looking forward to your personal message !!. I have only ever had contact with one or two other Dawson descendents, and only recently discovered the details of George's baptism and parents in the LMA records. I also have only one Brazill contact. After all this time, I still get excited when I find other family contacts !
I don't have the exact date of immigration of the three - William's death cert indicated he came out "about" 1857, making him about 21, and Samuel's says about 1859. As their family was involved in marine-time trades, I was thinking they might have come out as crew, but cannot find anything definite - the unassisted migrants indexes are very hard to search. By the way, Samuel (b1832) and William (b1836) were not the twins - William's twin was Joseph who stayed in London.(there was also another son called Joseph George, baptised in 1830, who died in 1835). Laura came out after the death of her first husband and birth of daughter Adelaide, in 1875.
I don't know whether they had any contact with their grandmother Mary Brazill who lived at Newcastle NSW until her death in 1865 - as they all settled, at first, in the Hunter region, one would presume so.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Diane
