Well I'm Denise's son and I have a sister named Liliane and Jaquie's kids are Jean-Guy,Linda and Therese.Laurier didn't have any kids and Laurier died about 10yrs ago.Paul had 4 kids,Helene,Andre,Pierre and Nicole.Delima had 5 kids,Suzanna,Jean-Paul,Diane,Joanne and Robert then there's Raymond who had 4 boys,Marcel,Roger,Donald and David.Debbie also had 3 boys,Kenneth named after grandpa,Eric and Keith and Lorraine had 4 boys named Jean,Robert,Marc and Mathieu.Oh by the way Paul also died of cancer just like Laurier did.If you need more info about all their spouses just let me know and I'll fill in all the blanks as best as I can ok?....your new found family member: Denis Lyrette

Yes Micheal your grandfather and my great grandfather were brothers.My grandfather was one of Joshua breau's sons and his name was Kenneth.He had 4 daughters and 3 sons,Joshua's grand daughters are Delima,Jaqueline,Denise,Debbie and Lorraine. His sons were Raymond,Laurier and Paul but only Raymond is still alive in the boys.The other 2 died of cancer years back.My name is Denis and I'm Denise' son and Joshua's great grandson.

As you may have been aware, I am on a 6 months sabbatical in order to work on a book following the first book of "A Breau genealogy - Généalogie Breau" published in 1999 and revised in 2004. This book contained the first 7 generations of descendants of the acadian Vincent Brault and their children, so you had in fact the 8th generation

My work is now finished and the two new books are now ready. Those who had bought the first book have received a letter via "regular snail-mail" announcing the new genealogy books.

The marriage date for your father comes from a marginal inscription alongside his baptismal act in Neguac, NB. Maybe there is an error in the note as 1951 would make him 40 years old at marriage. Could have been 1931 instead.

Luella M. Breau, b.1883, lived DeKalb Co., IL

I have an original studio photograph of “Luella Breau McKenzie”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1905, in Sycamore (DeKalb Co.) IL, and she looks to be in her early 20s.

I found Luella single in the 1900 census for South Grove (DeKalb Co.) IL, living with her father, a grain dealer, with name either W.E. or N.E. Breau, born Canada. She was Luella M. Breau, DOB March 1883, oldest child, with brother Walter and sisters Ivy and Clara. In 1910 DeKalb Co. census, she was wife of James McKenzie, who she married in 1903.

This is the only Edward/Edouard CORMIER family in New Brunswick for 1881 that is close to the name Apauline. But the children do not match your list.

In the book "A Breau Genealogy", edition 2004 by Robert Brault, page 223 we find the entry:
#12672525: Timothée BREAU married Olive CORMIER. First child: Appoline, baptized 29 Nov 1851 at Cocagne NB; married 18 Sept 1873 at Cocagne NB to Edouard CORMIER. This might be your family; the name Appoline is very rare so chances are good. Appoline had ten siblings in her family. You can get the Breau book directly from the author at:

I have a challenging question:

My great-great-grandmother, Apauline Breau is a mystery to me. She married Edouard Cormier and had many children (Angus, Madeleine, Marie, Telesphore, etc.). They were originally from New Brunswick, Canada and lived in Fitchburg, MA... and may have moved to Acushnet or New Bedford, MA at some point. I am curious about Apauline's ancestry. She was born some time between 1845 and 1865 (most likely).

I realize this is not much to go on, but I thought I would take a chance.

Any help will be appreciated.

My grandfather, Joseph Lapierre died in January of 1972, I remember it well as I was attenager going to visit him in the hospital when he passed away. He and my grandmother are buried in Sacred Hearts cemetary in New Bedford, Ma. Meme're passed away in Florida, as she lived in Fort Myers, Florida in her later years. They were married on 4/20/1914. Rumor has it and my grandfather confirmed that he was Indian. But that still remains a mystery. I just sent for his SS information to hopefully obtain more info. As a child I lived upstairs from my grandparents, they were like a second set of parents. My mother, Amanda's daughter recently passed away in Sept from cancer. She and my father Abel Gonsalves live with me qand my husband in NH. Any info you can send would be appreciated. I am in the process of making scrapebooks for my children's history. A story quite similar to Evangeline and Gabriel! My mother, Dorina King,
now widowed and aged 90, is desperately searching for her lost love one,
Abraham Breau. They met in 1924-25 in Pugwash, N.S. (Canada). Dorina was then
working in a lobster factory. Abraham followed her to a small fishing
community in Cap-Lumière (Kent Co., N.B.) where he worked for Dorina's
father, Clovis King, as a fisherman. Dorina's parents objected to the
relationship. They broke off and Dorina never saw her Abraham again! Now
aged 90, one of her most desired wish would be to know what has happened
to her Abraham. Did he get marry, had children, etc. Thanks in advance

Then I have your grandparents in my database and the birth date is new for me. Do you have more informations on your grandparents: place of birth and date and place of death/burial for your grandfather and date and place of death/burial of your grandmother ?

Octave Breau and Virginie Bourque are in the Breau genealogy book as they are on the 8th generation and the book goes until that generation.

Debbie also sent me a picture of Amanda (she is 89 years old on the picture)

She was the eldest child of Timothée Breau and Olive Cormier and she was on the 8th generation from the first ancestor who came from France to North America in the 17th century (Vincent Brault). I have her in the genealogy book of the Breaus published this summer and that has the first 8 generations of descendancy from the first ancestor.

In the marriage repertory of Neguac and on the microfilm of that same parish, it indicates that Norbert BREAU married Guillaumine SAVOY on 26 jan 1909. Norbert is on the 8th generation and thus appears in the book of Breaus re-edited last year.

Besides these 9 children, I had also Marie-Elmire who died young (1909-1909), Rita (died as a child), a first Albert who died young, Robert who died young and Edmond who died young.

Olive Corimier married Thimothy Breau.
Olive's Parents were michael and Apoline Robichand. Thimothy and Olive were married
11-19,1850. prpbably in Cocagne but maybe Grande Digue. after they were married they lived in Breau Village where my grandfather
lionel breau(lt) was born. He was 1 of 12 children. There was a Marie breau who married a Francois Corimier. relation to Olive ?

My Grandfather Henri Breau was born in Breau Village in the mid 1880's. His father was Fabien Breau. I don't know his grandmother's name. If you have any information about his family I would be so happy to hear from you. He married Mary Anne Cormier from Bouctouche around 1906. Thank you - I hope you can help me.
