hi my name is Theresa granddaughter of Whitney Breaux, sorry to say I still have not found out any more information. If you have anymore information about the breauxs it would be nice to receive any type of information. I dont think i ever mentioned, when my grandfather was a young man he lost one of his legs in an accident....

Ozea was born 2 Feb 1861 Abbeville LA. Don't know her death or burial date.

She was the daughter of Napoleon Breaux and Anastasie Babineau.

Emily Breaux was born in 1838 and was married to Gesnair Breaux (son of Belizaire and Marguerite Caruthers). I've just realized that I don't know her date of death!
Does anyone have this informatin, or can anyone try a look-up for me? I know she is alive in 1900 because they are on the census. He died in 1910, and I haven't been able to find her on the 1910 census, but that doesnt mean she had expired.

As you may have been aware, I am on a 6 months sabbatical in order to work on a book following the first book of "A Breau genealogy - Généalogie Breau" published in 1999 and revised in 2004. This book contained the first 7 generations of descendants of the acadian Vincent Brault and their children, so you had in fact the 8th generation

My work is now finished and the two new books are now ready. Those who had bought the first book have received a letter via "regular snail-mail" announcing the new genealogy books.

I am now contacting all my email contacts over the years to inform you of the publication of these new books in case you might be interested.

My father, Alvin James Freeman is also a direct descendant of Hortense Breaux Tolmaire. My grandmother, Rita was Hortense's birth daughter. My dad, Alvin married Alice (Payne) Freeman. From this union, eight children were born. The names of these children are, Alvin Jr, Lawrence J. Freeman (deceased) Alice Marie, Reynold, Louis, Michael, Anita, (and myself), Mary. Many of our family members still remain in the greater Chicagoland area.

A Breaux book I'd like to find

"A narrative history of Breaux Bridge : once called "La Pointe". This book would detail the story of my 5 greats grandfather and his family. His daughter-in-law, Scholastique, is credited with the establishment of Breaux Bridge. I would love to find a copy of this book, if any has any suggestions! I know it is held by the Family History Library in Utah, but their books don't circulate.

I know your posting at Rootsweb is a few years old, but I am a Breaux, descending from Pierre Firmin Breaux of Breaux Bridge fame (he's my 5 great grandfather). If you haven't collected as much info as you'd like, or maybe you'd have info for me, feel free to email me at swolfy@charter.net. I have most of the info on the ancestors of long ago, it's my grandfather (b. 1906) that has proved most elusive!

I was able to secure this information from the US Census in 1880. My mother gave me a list of her aunt and uncles on her father's side, she mentioned her ggrandmother's name was Poleska Breaux. I checked every census until I was able to search the names and was able to link all the children to the same parents Norbert Richard and Poleska (Braud or Breaux) not sure on Poleska's surname since one census showed Richard and another census showed Breaux. I do know Poleska had 3 children prior to marrying Norbert Richard (Eugene Therize, Theriot & Modeste)so one can only assume Norbert unoffically adopted them. They may have taken the Plantations owners name of Braud/Breaux.

Do you have any information on Clementine Tircuit? I am desperately looking for any info on her?

My name is Anastasia Crisofulli) My grandfather was Eugene Joseph Breaux and his parents were Theriot Breaux and Clementine Tircuit. I am trying to locate any info on the Tircuit lineage. Theriot's parents were Norbert Richard and Poleska (Braud - Breaux) upon some research. The Richard surname was changed from Richard to Breaux. Any info would b greatly appreciated

Thériot Breaux and Clementine Tircuit are in my TO_BE_LINKED file of people for whom I have three births: Marie Lilie, Oscar and Normand Ricard found in the Baton Rouge Diocesan Archives books.
I am interested on what is your source of information for Theriot's parents being Norbert Richard and Poleska Breaux ?

I have in my database a Joseph Breaux (born 1876 in Carencro LA) married to a Cleonise Benoit on 11 dec 1894 also in Carencro LA. I have 5 children at the moment for that couple:
Joseph Odon b. 1896 and d. 1896 Carencro LA
Cleovis b. 1897 Carencro LA
Marie b. 1900 Lafayette LA
Laure b. 1902 Lafayette LA
Simon Simonet b. 1905 Carencro LA
I don't have any Genieve or Genevieve maybe but she may have been born after 1905. Could that be the right family ?

I have a Louis Felix Breaux (b. 1850) who married 6 jul 1871, New Orleans LA Marie Alphonsine Orillon for whom I had three children: Louis Felix Breaux, Joseph Breaux and Clarisse Elodie Breaux.

However I have a sister (not a daughter) of Felix called Marie Hortense who married Frank Tolmer 10 jul 1873 in Plaquemine LA and her sister Marie Barbe Breaux who married William Tolmer in 1872-1873 in Plaquemine LA

Could that be the right family ?

Joseph Arthur Breaux married Georgina Walker on 8 oct 1879 in Raceland (civil) or Thibodaux (church). I have 9 children for this couple and would ike to get in touch with you to complete the more recent generations.

Since I have your GGGGfather in my database, I have thus all his ancestry to the first ancestor who came to North America from France. Arthur was on the 8th generation.
