German Bree Surname of Dutch Origin?
A geogen search of the Bree surname in Germany reveals that most Bree's live in Brandenburg. Apparently starting in the 12th century, large numbers of Dutch diaspora settled in Brandenburg.
I am a German Bree (From Wisconsin), and I am curious of the origin of my surname, as it doesn't appear to be German, as stated in the ancestry.com surname search results (and many other ancestry search engines as well)
Can anyone shed any light on the origin of German Brees
