The Donnor Party was certainly not a myth. It is well documented and many books have been written about the Donnor Party. I had a friend who died in 2003 at nearly 80 yrs old who was married to the grandson of Margaret Isabella Breen the child survivor of the Donnor Party. Margaret was born in 1845 in Lee County, Iowa. She died 8/25/1935 in Hollister, Ca. the last surviving Donnor Party member. Her father was Patrick Breen. He was baptized 6/11/1795 in Barnshaskin, County Carlow, Leinster, Ireland. He immigrated in 1828 from Southwold, Elgin, Ireland to Ontario Canada. He was married to Margaret Bulger, also born in Rathreran, County Carlow, Leinster, Ireland. She died 4/13/1874 in 'San Juan Bautista, Ca.
