Thomas Maurice Breen was born in 1850 in Ireland. Came to the US about 1877. Married Mary Ann Fernan. Lived in Ithaca, Tompkins Co., N.Y. Worked as the groundskeeper for Coornell University. Three children: Maurice Francis Breen, b. 1884 in Scranton, PA; Thomas Alfred Breen (my grandfather) b. 1885 in Ithaca, N.Y. and attended Cornell Univeristy to become a veterinarian; and Anna Marie Breen, b. 1889 in Ithaca, who became a Nun and taught French at the Univeristy of Rochester, N.Y.
