I just happened to come across this message and My grandfather was Donald Breier from Bay City, MI and his father was Peter Breier. I live in Bay City and was very close to my grandpa, he passed away in 1998. I know nothing about his father nor does my mother because my grandpa said she could never meet him and that is all he told her, she never met his mother either..I believe her name was Blanche Hart.

If you go through the CA Historical Society. You may be able to order a copy of the original death record. I know you can do it here in MN for a fairly reasonable fee. That should have the name of the cemetery on it. They also should have the different newspaper films on hand and can look you up an obit at the same time.

Sorry...

Thank you for some of the names and dates in your post. I am currently looking to find my fiance's grandmother's burial site. She was Dorothy Ivy (Coyle) Breier (Edward Jr's wife). I only know that she died in California in June 1969 and would appreciate any assistance in finding out where she is buried.

My great grandfather was William John Breier of West Phalen Germany who married Anna Sustrup. Their children who survived were Katherine, Anna,William, Cecilia, Maime (Bonnie) Albert and John. They lived in St. Joseph, Missouri beginning in the late 1800's where great-granddad played cards with Jesse James until Jesse died.

He was one of three sons born to one father and three wives. His mother died at his birth and the second wife died at the birth of her son.

He is credited with having built St. Francis Xavier in St. Joseph, Missouri. My now deceased uncle remember that a cousin came from Germany inthe 1920's and stayed with them until he took a job as a farm manager. This cousin continued on in school and became a university professor.

Seeking info on my husband's grt grandmother, born FEIGE BREIER b. abt 1888 in Lokot, Austria (this later or early was Russia). Feige Breier, 22, seamstress, Hebrew, immigrated on SS New Amsterdam, departing from Roterdam on July 2,1910. Last residence: Lokot Austria (Bryansk, Russia region). Name and address of nearest relative in country came from: father JAKOB BREIER, Lokot, Galacia. Final destination: cousin ABRAHAM (may be something else) BREIER, 467 Houston Drive, New York, New York. Height 4'11" Brown hair/blue eyes. Place of birth: Lokot Russia. In the US she went by Fannie and married Chaim "Meyer" Stepner and after living in NYC, Albany & Hudson NY they eventually settled in Norwich, CT.

Her youngest son states that all her family lived either in NYC or Hudson, NY after immigration.

I have been told that Fannie had a brother NACHMAN BREIER, spelling of first name may be different. Could he be the NATHAN BREIER b. Austria who immigrated in 1909 and lived in Hudson, NY with wife Yetta?

Also interested in KALMAN BREIER b. 1878 Galacia, immigrated 1904 and settled at Hudson NY by 1920.

Have found more info on Nachmann Brajer which confirmed he took the name Nathan Breier in US. Immigtated June 8, 1910 and upon arrival in NYC lived with a cousin, A. Breier of 467 E Houston Street. His sister Feige arrived a month later an also went to this cousin. Nachmann left behind his wife " Ette in Lokec, P. Litouriska, Galicia"

Lived on Sheriff St in 1920 when his wife Ette and 3 children Chune (male, 15), Golde, 12, & Zilpre (daughter, 10) arrived in US.

In 1930 he was living in Hudson NY with wife "Yetta" and children Gussie, 21, Rose & Dorothy. Gussie is possibly the same as Golde.

Still seeking identity of this Mr. A. Breier of 467 E Houston Street who was their cousin. I did find a record of an Adolph Breier in 1917 at 246 E Houston St registering for the draft, age 25 and single. He is possibly a son or brother of the A Breier I seek.

Additionally looking for info on Kalman Breier the grocer. He was in Hudson by 1910 but find no record of his immigration.
