My maiden name is Breitling, my granddad is Arthur Breitling,son of Mathues Breitling who was born in Russia in 1859. He brought over 6 children: Christina, Paulina, Dorothea, Gottlieb, Reinhold, Otto, then had the last two in USA: Arthur and Ida. My dad did not know about Christina and Paulina, and Reinhold died in WWI in France but was re-buried in Wishek N.D. Otto passed away in Alburque N.M. Me and my daughter have traced our Breitling ancestors back to 1512 in Wuerttemberg, Germany. If anyone knows anything about Christina, Paulina, Dorothea, or Ida please share with me. Jacob Weil from Russia is also related. Thanks

Breitlings from Bessarabia, Russia and ND

Greetings Breitling researchers. I have been researching at the St. Pete's archives for the Breitlings from Bessarabia, Russia. I know that my great-grandmother Katharina and brother Emmanuel came to the US from Beresina, Bessarabia, Russia with their parents Philipp and Caroline (Strobel) Breitling to Mercer County, ND. Philipp's parents were Matthaus and Dorothea (Friedrich) Breitling originally from Wuerttemberg, Germany, then to Bessarabia, Russia. As with another post, I don't believe there are any more Breitlings in Mercer County, ND?? Anyone with ties to the ND and or Bessarabian, Russia Breitlings, please reply!

Katharina BREITLING Beresina?, Bessarabia, Russia

I'm trying to find out about my great-grandmother Katharina BREITLING, b. abt. 1871, perhaps Beresina, Bessarabia, Russia, not sure. She married August ISAAK, Jr. (b. 2 Dec 1870, Michaelsfeld, Georgia, Russia. d. 6 Mar 1933, Krem, ND?). Her parents settled near Scotland, SD around 1889. I can't find land records anywhere near there that lists BREITLINGs. They ended up in Mercer County, ND in 1894.

I've found two Katharinas in Bessarabian records, one born to Philipp and Katharina (STROBEL) and another to Matthaeus and Christina (DRAMNITSKE)*

Breitling Watch Genealogy

I wonder if anyone in this group knows the family genealogy for the Breitling Watch family. I know that the company was began by Leon Breitling in the late 1800's.

My wifes Breitling family came from the same general area of Saxony (close to Switzerland) and Her gggrandfather Charles Breitling named his first daughter Leone.

Does anyone know who the father of Leon Breitling would be?
