      <description>BRENDAN, JOHN&lt;br&gt;Jacobite captured at Preston.  Transported from Liverpool on the 'Friendship' master Michael Mankin, 24 May 1716 for Maryland.  Landed in Maryland and sold to Ben Whartfield, 20 August 1716.&lt;br&gt;(SP/C)(HM)&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am not related to this person, I am just passing on this information, which comes from a book titled "Scots Banished to the American Plantations 1650-1775" by David Dobson.
