Thank you so much for the information! Do you have any additional information on your grandfather or grandmother? It sounds like you would be my grandmother's first cousin-- her name was Mary Frances Hammes. She was b. 1912 and passed away in 1987.
She was a descendant of your father's half sister, Lulu Hooper. I don't know if you would have known her or not. My father has talked about visiting his Brendlinger cousins as a child.
Our line is:
Sarah MacFarland & 1st husband Adam Hooper
their daughter Lulu Hooper married Francis Hammes
their daughter Mary Frances Hammes married Charles N. Taylor
they had 3 children: Charles Francis b. 1937, Dorothea (Dottie) and John.
