Origin of Brennecke name
I agree with Sharon. The most frequent English 'translation' from German of Brennecke is "burnt corner" or "burning corner" or "corner for burning". One of those "name services" said it came from a Celtic word which looked to me nothing like Brennecke and had a meaning which was completely different.
Of course, I also see the name spelled with no "c" or only one "n", but I suspect those were corruptions over the years.
