Hi Daniel,
I've read on various sites on the internet, that you are the absolute expert on Brunet, Brunett, Brunette family research. I need your help. My gg grandfather, Joseph Brunet's parents are a little elusive. His marriage and death certificates list his parents as Michel and Agathe (Langlois) Brunet. According to family records, his birthdate is Jan 7, 1845 which means he would have been born less than 6 months after his supposed brother - Michel and Agathe's son - Isaiah born Aug 27, 1844 (aka Severe Brunet).
I believe he may not be the natural son of Michel and Agathe. According to family stories, he could be the illegitimate son of a Hamilton. This Hamilton, as told in family stories, is a member of the family that did not appreciate the "high society" lifestyle his lineage afforded him, and as a result left his family for the untamed west. I've also read on the internet that some think the Hamilton/Brunet link is a myth. It could be.
Can you tell me if you have come across Joseph Brunet (aka Joseph Brown) born Jan 7, 1845 in Charlottenburg, Glengarry, Ontario, Canada - married Angeline O. Bundy in Minnesota in 1866 and had the following children: Henry David (my g grandfather), Phebe, Hattie, William, Albert and D.A. Brunet? Died February 12, 1927 in Rice Lake, Barron, Wisconsin?
If you need additional information, please let me know. Thanks so much for any help you can give.
