Thankyou for posting!
I was trying to research my gguncle. Emmitt Boring. He ends up in LA around 1945.
He married an Elizabeth Brenneman Wiles in 1929,Wayne County. They also appear in Chicago, Cook Co 1930 census. My uncle is listed as "director of motion pictures". His wife, Elise?, is listed.
It appears they traveled together. In fact, I have found a news article from a show in Port Arthur TX. Emmitt has relatives there.
Thanks! Would love to exchange info!

Do you have Brenneman Family Ties to Lancaster Co, PA?

On April 13, 1784, a Melchoir Brenneman (1714-1768) conveyed to John Haldeman (1753-1832) a tract of land in northwest Lancaster Co, PA bordering on the Susquehanna River. John Haldeman married Maria/Mary, a daughter of Melchoir, and acquired a second property bordering on the first, that has over the years become known as Locust Grove.

John and Maria developed Locust Grove into a prominent business hub consisting of a large three story grist mill, sawmill, distillery, swine operation and two-story stone house. Some historians believe Melchoir assisted the development of Locust Grove, some believe he spend his retirement years in a small stone building next to the mansion.

Today, the magnificent two-story stone house is known as the Haldeman Mansion. It sits on a rise overlooking the mouth of the Conoy Creek and Susquehanna River. The property, once the site of an Indian village was purchased (warranted) from the William Penn family by John Galbraith, an early Indian trader, in 1738.

The Haldeman Mansion Preservation Society is reaching out to the descendents of all early owners of this historically significant property to seek, share and preserve relevant information. If you are researching the Brenneman surname and believe your ancestors may have Locust Grove ties, please visit our website at www.haldeman-mansion.org. Be sure to checkout the “Locust Grove Timeline” for additional information on the Brenneman Family.

We would be pleased to hear from you, to share information with you and have your support in preserving the historic accounts of this unique property.

I'm a descendant of Christian's. My family still retains and lives on a piece of his original land in southern Pennsylvania. In fact, my first childhood home was built on that self same land. There are very few of us surviving today, however; my branch of Christian's family was not very 'fruitful,' shall we say, despite being farmers. ;-)

Frances Rollins married Charles F Smith in Nov. 1867 in Monroe county. I would appreciate any info on the William and Rebecca Brenneman Rollins family, and would be happy to hare what I have.

You must be referring to the Brenneman History by Albert H Gerberich originally printed by the Mennonite Publishing House in 1938. I was able to buy a reprint of the 1217 page book through the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society in 1988 and use it often. I also have a copy on a CD but don't have the details handy. The LDS church has also filmed it. Good luck with this project.

Gerbracht did just that thing in 1932. There is a book available with that information. I think you can obtain a copy thru Amazon. If you are going to take that book and update it, that would be great. I am a first born of a first born going back to Melchoir III. The book is called "The Brenneman Family History".

It looks like it wouldn't be that hard since most of us have the data already in our own trees here on Ancestry. Putting a complete tree in one spot on the web seems possible. I'm looking to see what the best software for doing it is. It appears that a lot of families have done this sort of thing with MediaWiki - the software that drives Wikipedia.

If several of us did little pieces here and there as we have time it would come together pretty quickly. I too, come and go on my own tree as I have time.

Hello Brenneman family and researchers. I recently found an older Bible in a Salvation Army Store that belonged to "Charles Brenneman", he was from Livonia Michigan. I always purchase these types of things that I find and pass them along to the family. This Bible does not have any family information but has many notes made in it, a great way to have an understanding of this mans character and beliefs. If you are a family member of Mr. Brenneman, I will be happy to send this to you, at no charge ofcourse, it's just my way of keeping things that belong in a family right where they belong.
Please contact me at 4derms@gmail.com

Her death was caused by a complication of diseases, from which she has been suffering for a number of years, her last illness lasting only nine weeks. She was failing rapidly for the last week, and on the day before her death it was known that she could not live through the night. Mrs. Brenneman was 67 years of age.

She was born in Newcastle, Ind., in 1839, and came to this city in 1865, and this place has been her home ever since. Her maiden name was Mary A. Mullen. She is survived by one child, Mrs. George A. Kellar, four grandchildren, Edward, Alma, Effie and Grace Kellar, all of this city, also one brother, Hugh Mullen of Newcastle, Ind., and a niece Miss Ida Mullen, also of Newcastle.
Looking for father's biological father Henry? Brenneman

My father Floyd Dunbar was born Floyd Songer. His mother had an affair with a Henry Brenneman before she was married to Irv Songer. My father knew him as Uncle Henry while he was a child. Later Arta (Floyd's mother) had an affair with Arthur (Art) Dunbar and they moved out to California.

While Floyd was in high school he received notice that Henry died and that he was entitled to some inheritance. Art would not let Arta admit publicly that she had the affair (even though he still had a wife and family back east)and the inheritance and the knowledge of his biological father disappeared. Supposedly Arta's Aunt Barbara Long kept in touch with him until he died.

What do I know about him.
1. He was a diver for the Corp of Engineers.
2. He was injured (got the bends) while looking for a drown girl in Erie.
3. He died around 1953.
4. He lived in the Penn.. Ohio area.

Any help would be appreciated.
