My great-grandmother was Severina Brescia. I believe she came from Catanzaro. She married a man named Francesco Venezia, who most surely was from that part of Italy.

Francesco died in 1915 of TB and Severina remarried a man named Michele Natale. She died in 1917 from complications of childbirth.

She had at least three siblings that I know of -- Pasquale, Ottavio and Cesare. They all, at one time or another, lived in Pittsburgh, PA. Pasquale died of TB in Woodville State Hospital in 1920. Cesare disappears from the American record not long after he is shown accompanying his sister Severina (also known, for some reason, as Teresa Pasqualina) from Italy to the US with Francesco in 1904. Ottavio is in America at least through 1922, when he attempts to gain guardianship over Severina and Francesco's three children -- his niece and nephews.

Don't know if these people are related but my great grandfather had a daughter named Guiseppina Brescia and she was possibly born in Cosenza, Calabria Italy. I have family in Pittsburg, Pa also and just found this interesting. Thanks.

just found out my grandfather, Ralph J Brash, was born in 1936, he may or may not have been born in brescia italy. my great grandfather, Ralph Bruno Brash, came to america when he was 21. he also had a glass eye. he settled in plumville pa but then baught and owned a store in buyer pa. ralph bruno's mother was Adalena and father's name may be bruno. he also had a brother tom and a sister anthonette that came to america, he may had others that's what i'm searching for. my grandfather, ralph j brash, had 2 brothers, donald and thomas and a sister mary.

Hi, I am trying to find info on Joseph and Mary Brescia who settled in MA.. Per 1920 census Joseph Brescia, age 52, head of house, M, born in Italy, language spoken Italian. Wifes name Mary, age 52, F, born in Italy, language spoken Italian. Children Sarah age 19, Clara (spelling was unclear-looks like Clara) age 14, Parick age 25 (italian name Pasqual), Annie (wife of Patrick) age 22. All born in Italy. In 1930 census it shows Joseph, 62 with wife Mary also 62 and son Patrick age 34, Annie age 31 and their 2 children, Joseph age 10 and Victor age 61/2. This census was for Worchester Co, City of Clinton. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated as Victor is my childrens grandfather.

My great-grandmother Nunzia (or Annonciette) Brescia was born in Catania, Sicily to (forgot) Brescia and Antonina Caruso. She had many siblings and was sent to work in Algeria. Married her husband, Charles Volante, there and had my grandfather. Later lived in France before she died. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have just started my mothers side of my family, and find that my grandmother Grace BRESCIA was the daughter of Catherine, and Paschal BRESCIA. Paschal came to Portsmouth, Va. in the early 1900s. Hi, father's parents: Guiseppe Brescia of Trapani, Sicily; mother Antonina Ribaudo of Mistretta, Sicily. Grandfather known as Pedu Mendugo(Sp?) Immigrated to United States circa 1910-12.
