Thank you so much for this extra information Nick. I am now sure he is one of mine. My grandmother had a "gingerish" colour hair and so did the 2 sisters of hers that I knew.
I also know that one of her siblings (?) is in the 1901 census as "railway ???" the second word I can't make out, but I will go back and have a much closer look now. This may not be him but a son...and as I have found out with most of my other searching and finding, lots sons followed in their fathers footsteps... maybe a sort of " I'll get you a job at my place " sorth of thing, to get them work. My husbands family, I can pick the men out a mile off. They were boilermakers back 4 generations, fathers & sons, brothers and uncles etc...and so was my father in law.
Anyway Nick, I am so happy to have met you and thanks so much for this extra information, I am really grateful...
