Dr. John Brickell and Rev. Matthias Brickell were brothers, arriving in NC in the early 1700s. There is no record of any family descended from Dr. John. Rev. Matthias had at least two sons, one who became Lt. Col. Matthias Brickell, in NC, having married Rachel Noyal/Noailles. The other son was John, of Bertie, NC/Norfolk, VA/Hertford, NC. This younger John died in 1790, Hertford. He was married to Martha.
