I also have Bridges in NC that could be kin to yours. During the 1740s, my William Bridges, Sr. & wife Susannah came to Granville County NC from VA. William was a saddler and tobacco merchant. In NC, they lived adjacent to Thomas & William Freeman (sons of John Freeman, Sr.), and their daughter Elizabeth married William Freeman. In 1749, William Bridges, Sr. sold his property to Bridges Freeman, and he wrote his will in 1756, which was proven in 1762.

My lineage is through William Bridges' son William Bridges, Jr., born 1726, who married Catherine, and they had daughter Martha Bridges, born 1760 NC. In about 1775, Martha married John C. Howard in NC. They moved to Butler County KY between 1785-1790.

It seems feasible that my Bridges may be part of your same family. What do you think?
