Do you have information as to who was Levi Bridgewater's parents? I have that he was a brother to a Samuel, who also fought in the same war. I have thought they were brothers and that their father was Immanuel. I am not sure now.

Not sure if you are still tracing the Bridgewaters, but I am also related to your Job Bridgewater .
His brother Thomas was my great grandfather & yes, their parents were Job Bridgewater & Sidona Mogg.

Was Job married (poss 2nd marriage) to Pamela Rabey?

I am also a descendant of Samuel & Mary Ann. My father was John Samuel Bridgewater born in Curryville, MO. His parents were James Melvin Bridgewater and Jennie Owen. We've just had remodeling in our house and I've misplaced earlier notes I took. James & Jennie moved to Quincy, IL and were living there until their deaths in the mid-1900s. My father died in Florida in 1968. He and my mother divorced when I was a baby so I never met him. I got some family info from his sister, Emma Bridgewater Tiplady, in 1984 just before she passed away. Best email for me is fuller184@hotmail.com

Charles was a son of Nathaniel Bridgwater and Rebecca Jeanetta Clarke; grandson of Jonathan Bridgwater and Mary Clark of Amherst Co., Virginia. Jonathan was a son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Bridgwater of Henrico Co., Virginia, and grandson of Samuel and Frances Bridgwater of the same place.

thankyou for the correction.i believe that my bridgewater family may or may not be buried in the bridgewater cemetery,i,ve also been told that sally page and nathan may be buried on the family farm without headstones.i talked to one of the bridgewaters on the phone.

Funeral services for Sherman Bridgewater, 85 years old, of Zionsville, who died Wednesday in Marion County General Hospital, will be held at 3 pm Saturday in Shirley Brothers Irving Chapel. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery.
Born at Scottsburg, Mr. Bridgewater had lived in Indianapolis for eight years. He was last employed as a caretaker of Washington Park Cemetery from 1952-1957.
Surviving are a son, Everett Bridgewater, and a sister, Mrs. Etta Coffman, both of Indianapolis.

William Cager [middle name not "Clayton"] Bridgewater, born 14 February 1880. He was married to Nellie Mae Creel who was born on 14 June 1883 in Royce City, Texas, daughter of Jeff Creel and Mary Paxton. Nellie died from cancer on 7 January 1941 at the family home on North 5th Street in Lamesa, Dawson Co., Texas. William died from heart failure on 25 July 1941 in Lamesa.

Dora Rachel Bridgwater was born 14 July 1913 and died prior to 2002. Elizabeth May "Lizzie" Bridgwater was born 6 April 1915 and died 6 April 2002. She married Guy L. Batson and raised a family. Sally Bent "Betty" Bridgwater was born 23 June 1919. She married a Mr. Hale and lived in Urbana, Illinois, as of 2002. The sisters were all born in Green Co., Kentucky. I can send more complete and up-to-date information and references by email if you would like. There are four older Bridgwater half-brothers accounted for, Herman E. Bridgwater, William Ray Bridgwater, Alexander Guy "Alic" Bridgewater, and Julian Taylor Bridgwater. Most of these families remained in McLean and Ford Counties, Illinois.

I have located in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana a Chesley Bridgewater who died in 1862. He apparently was a physician (based on what I have seen in his probate). I believe he is the same Chesley Bridgewater who was living in Smith, Tennessee with Samuel Bridgewater (age 33 and also a doctor, probably his brother) and a James Bridgewater (age 27 and also a doctor). On ancestry he appears as Cherly but the original record looks like Chesly to me. I was interested in finding out who he was since I am researching early physicians of Ouachita Parish. I will be going back to the courthouse to get his full inventory soon. I will keep a look out on any other details if you are interested. My recollection was that he died with no heirs, but I could be wrong. Let me know if you are interested in any of these details.

Mrs. Etta Coffman mentioned in this obit was my grandmother and was from the Decatur, Illinois, area. She is buried in Clinton, IL, and her step mother, Millie Noakes, is buried in Decatur. Etta was the mother of twelve, my mother is the youngest at 81.

HISTORY NOTES: Lee Walter JERRELL

Lee was a successful farmer in Ballard County. He raised corn, wheat,
tobacco, cattle, hogs, and a large garden on 239 acre farm.

In 1902 he built a new house on US Highway 60 when it was still a
gravel road.

Lee provided space on his farm for a one-room school house (called
Milton School or Spunky Hill). Generally the teacher boarded with the
Jerrell family.

Lee and Mary Ann (Molly) were supportive members of Mt. Pleasant
Church. They were staunch Democrats.

Hello John,
Would you send me the names of Sarah's children, no birth dates, just a time frame? We have Bridgewater's from PA that migrated to KY then Indiana. My Bridgewaters used the European Naming Pattern so each child would later do the same, hence, each of their families would have Immanuel's, Samuel's, Levi's, Isaac's and Christian's and so on.

We have a very extensive Bridgewater Research Group out there and I would be very interested if Sarah's parent's could be related to this line of Bridgewater's. I would be glad to send info if you would like.,

I can find no baptism records nor any marriage for Sarah...although I know she had 2 sons Charles and Frank Bridgewater (no father named on birth cert) folowed by a marriage to Harry/Henry Brown c1885 (living in Kings Hill, Wednesbury 1891cen).Children were Harry, Jane, Edward, Maude, Kate,and Frederick my Grandfather.On 1901 census the family was named as Whitehouse (not sure what happened) Sarah listed as head of household but NOT as widowed.
Does any of this sound familiar to anybody...getting desperate..........

vern,i talked with a living descendant on the phone and she told me that nathan started the oakhill baptist church in nelson county,story has it that nathan became a minister.sarah,s middle name is the name of one of edward d.page,s slaves.george w.page son of edward d.page his middle name is also "woodson"i don,t know what significance that holds.am attaching the will of edward d.page naming sarah and nathan in his will
